cr1 Help with CR1 - NOA1-->NOA2-->NVC+Interview in Brasil

Hi all - have some conflicting information and would love to poll the experts/those with experience here. Thanks for all you do!

 

My wife is Brazilian, and we submitted our I-130 nearly 6 months ago. We're hopeful to have our USCIS NOA2 shortly from the TSC. After this, we understand we'll need to move through the following steps:

case sent to/received by NVC --> paperwork to NVC and NVC approval --> case sent to US Consulate in Rio de Janeiro --> scheduling and completing the interview.

 

We had heard from several lawyer visits that after the initial USCIS NOA2 approval, we can hope to move more quickly through the remaining steps - several weeks of NVC processing, 1+ months to get our interview scheduled in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro). After the interview in Rio, one week wait to get our passport back and be all set.

 

However, today I found some VisaJourney timelines that show a longer timeframe  for NVC - up to a full 100 days/3 months for NVC processing, and then another 1-2 months for interview scheduling.

 

Does anyone have any direct experience on how long the NVC processing + visa scheduling took for their CR1? Ideally, in Brazil? I am nervous that we've been too optimistic regarding the next few steps in our process, and need to make personal plans for the remainder of the year.

Unfortunately for me and my husband was not so fast, we are waiting another 4 months since we were sent to NVC and now waiting for the appointment for the interview. Which would have taken another month.

Appropriate expectations would be to expect to complete the process 12 to 14 months after filing the petition.  You can adjust that expectation to about 5 more months after petition approval.
