I am no expert on US History but assumed the US had been jailing parents since 1776.

Why the outrage now?

Bcuse the democratic party has lost mainstream America and needs a new pool of minority voters to have any chance at staying relevant. It's estimated that if just 20% of African American voters stopped voting democrat the party would be toast. They are ok with whatever it takes to stay in power. even if it means putting illegal aliens ahead of citizens.

Its really that simple

its like the parable of King Solomon and wich mother was ok with cutting the baby in half

DNA testing can be done in hours.

I'm sure tearing this girl from her mother warms many hearts, but some of us have a shred of humanity.

I could compile a list of the Republicans who are also outraged by Trump's new 100% prosecution of asylum-seekers policy. Not sure there would be much of a point here though.

Actually if you read where the photographer took then this picture then you wouldn't feel bad. The photographer himself said that he was with CBP when they stopped a group of illegals after they crossed illegally. The mother had a child in her arms, and she had to put the child down in order to be searched by CBP thus this picture. So try something else.

so when the parent is in holding with all of the other adults and their kid, all for the sake of "humanity", what could possibly go wrong?

But But putting kids in with gang members and drug runners is a great idea

I am pretty sure at no detention facility in America do they put kids in Gen POP

Breastfeeding asylum seeking mothers are having their infants ripped away, never to see them again (mother gets deported, child winds up in ICE holding facility).

After fleeing third world conditions that no doubt the critics and their families would likewise flee if faced with themselves (as perhaps many of our ancestors did when they came here).

Hardly a fair comparison to a US volunteer soldier leaving his children with his spouse.

The president of the American Academy of Pediatrics on Monday said President Trump's "zero tolerance" policy separating families at the U.S.-Mexico border "amounts to child abuse."

Former FIrst Lady Laura Bush says:

"I live in a border state. I appreciate the need to enforce and protect our international boundaries, but this zero-tolerance policy is cruel. It is immoral. And it breaks my heart.

These images are eerily reminiscent of the Japanese American internment camps of World War II, now considered to have been one of the most shameful episodes in U.S. history.

“We pride ourselves on believing that people should be seen for the content of their character, not the color of their skin. We pride ourselves on acceptance. If we are truly that country, then it is our obligation to reunite these detained children with their parents — and to stop separating parents and children in the first place," she said adding that Americans pride on being the nation that sends humanitarian relief to devastated places."

No.

If you decide to go through a child support office in your county, you must meet specific criteria for a court-ordered DNA test. The time the process takes has come down significantly over the years, but there are still forms to be processed, a court order to be sent down from a judge, coordination of DNA collection, and more paperwork before results can be released. There is no “RUSH” option during these  procedures, so there may be a lengthy wait ahead.

  • Longest wait for DNA paternity testing: 4-6 weeks and longer, from a county child-support office—if you qualify
  • Shortest wait for DNA paternity testing: 1-2 days, from private lab”

And who is going to PAY for all those DNA tests?  At $100-400 per test, one might argue that that money would be better spent on food or necessities.

It’s not like it matters, because no way is it a good idea to put kids in gen pop, where some of those illegals will be pedophiles and rapists.  Bad idea!

So we should just open the borders for all to enter?  Yes or no?

As long as it does not impact the MDL personally negatively who cares?

They don't care about the costs because it's all about the children don't forget about the children. Then when we have to raise taxes to cover this cost people complain.
