Trump signs order to stop family separations

I'm waiting to see which Federal judge will declare this to be unconstitutional...

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I’m not much of a praying person, but I sincerely hope we don’t have to read about a child raped in detention because of this.

Not actually sure which situation has a higher risk. A bunch of children in one place with none of their parents being watched by "security", or keeping children with their parents. You do realize Americans rape children also, right?

Unless there is data to suggest otherwise, it's reasonable to assume that the majority of children are travelling with their real family.

As to the EO - I'm not ashamed to say that Trump has won points in my book. I was genuinely surprised (in a good way) to read that after work yesterday.

If they do I hope they find it unconstitutional to rip babies away from mother's in prisons right after delivery as well.

You mean historical data, like in 2014/15, when illegals were sending their kids over with anyone who would take them in record numbers?  Or are you expecting this new crop of illegals to just up and tell you themselves?

Could you send me the link to those numbers?

"Record numbers" doesn't mean much. One case could be a record, if it was the first. Not saying that's the case here but, you know...

I am not sure that is a safe assumption given how things occur at the border.  I realize many want to think that, but short of data showing these are all families, I think we need to remain open minded.

Here is a story regarding the numbers in 2015.  There was 10,500 unaccompanied minors crossing the border in a two month period.

Those are by themselves. I thought IDWAF was talking about children crossing the border with adults that weren't their family? Unaccompanied minors clearly aren't going to be placed with adults that they didn't show up with. That doesn't make any sense.

I'm not trying to be onery. I'll gladly get on board with your concerns if I say any evidence to suggest it is a significant issue.

They are simple numbers I'm looking for -

1. Total number of children crossing in a given period

2. Number of children crossing with an adult that isn't a family member in the same given period.

Obviously since number 2 requires time to investigate I'm not looking for 2018 data. 2015 would be fine.

These are child migrants entering the UK:

Are you reading posts before you quote?

What does that have to do with children showing up with adults who claim to be family but are not, and then subsequently rape the children?

If anything those examples make me wonder how safe it really is to put all of the "child migrants" together without their parents.

These entered as children, children with beards are very common migrants, I understand that the stress of the journey causes them to grow.

The topic is children entering with "parents" who aren't their parents, and then subsequently being put at risk by staying with them.

Again - your point is what? Trying to change the subject?
