I've just submitted my i 864 packet to the NVC with my wife's docs and my supporting docs.  I've submitted proof of income until the end of my current contract Feb 2019 but after that I will be unemployed and looking for work when I move back to the states permanently.  I assume they will notice this and will ask me to have a joint sponsor, which my parents are happy to do. I'd like to go ahead and  start getting those docs ready to send in as soon as they are requested, just in case.  Does anyone know exactly what docs I will need?  Will it be the same as my i864 packet, or one of the other versions of the form.  TIA

Is the employment in the United States or back home if it is in the United States they will need to fill out a similar version of the Affidavit of Support also they would need their transcripts for the last 3 years from the IRS you can get them online however is there in your country I guess they would need some form of statements as to how much they have made hope this help you

If your income will not continue from the same source when you get to the US, you should have stated your current income as $0. and sent the affidavit from the joint sponsor at the same time as your affidavit.

Become an A-Student of the I-864 instructions and interpret literally, particularly the words "are using".  Since you cannot use your income from a source that won't continue, you will be "using" an income of $0.  Words mean things.  Read carefully, interpret literally (not conveniently) and answer accurately.

NVC may or may not "notice" but the Consulate definitely WILL notice.

If it gets to the consulate before being noticed, could I, or rather my wife, have another signed affidavit of support from my parents with the appropriate supporting docs in hand for the interview without them having to ask us to return for another visit?  Thanks for the replies guys.

Follow up question, my parents have yet to post my packet from my permanent address in the US, so I can still add their paperwork with it.  So I will fill out the i864 for them and send it along with my packet.  Do they only need to submit tax returns/transcipts as proof of income.  They are 3-4x over the income requirements. Do they also need to submit their civil docs as well?  Passport/DL/etc?

My parents will be joint sponsoring my wife so I'm going to send in a i864 with my moms info along with my docs.  My parents file their taxes jointly, so my question in about which docs i need to submit.  Will I submit (1) i864 with my mom's info, along with (1) i864a with my dad's info or, just leave my dad out of it all together.  TIA

You will submit an I-864 + supporting documents.

One parent will submit an I-864 + supporting documents.

Your parent's spouse will submit an I-864A + supporting documents.

Follow up question....

On my i864 as the primary sponsor, in part 5 question 7, "Optional, if you have siblings, parents, or adult children.....combining their income with yours enter number here"

Initially I put "0" here because I wasn't going to use a joint sponsor, because I currently meet in the income requirement, but that income will stop in Feb 2019.  If I am going to use my mom as a co sponsor, will I input 1 here.  I'm wondering about the i864a statement.  I thought my mom would submit a normal i864.  Do i need to update my original i864 to include new info about a joint sponsor, or do i just include with my i864, and additional i864 from my mom.

For your additional questions, you'll be well advised to study those I-864 "INSTRUCTIONS".  Doing so will be critical to your ultimate success.  Your questions make it clear you are not nearly familiar enough with the form itself, much less the instructions for its use.

Did you include assets on the I-864 with your income?  About $100k in easily accessible (and very liquid) assets will probably overcome the requirement to show continuing income or have a joint sponsor.

I'll be advised my whom to study those i-864 instructions.  Never mind.  You seem to just want to point out short comings instead of helping.  Thanks anyway I guess.

I don't really have any assets.  Some property, and some savings(about 50 k), but nothing else.  I'll definitely need a joint sponsor.  Thanks for the ideas though.
