Hello Ahmed, I am sorry to hear that incident happened to you. Yes you should mention that fact in your form and don't forget to attach in your folder the court disposition.

My advice is to hire an immigration lawyer to handle your case, please don't try to do it by your self because domestic violence is very serious.

Take care...

very cool Ahmed, I am very glad to hear that good new. Now if you want to verify if your case is solved, you should do your background check from the FBI office located in your area. You will pay some fees to get because USCIS will do your background from FBI database. So any crimes or offenses occurred in the USA territory will show up.

For example my case is expunged by my local state but my lawyer told me that the record still be in the FBI databases.

Please keep in your mind that USCIS has all the information that they need about you already, they want just check if you are honest when you will do your interview. And last thing carry out your court disposition if you have an interview with them.

yes, they will know it is in the system. just go online and put in the courthouse where you went to court and if you rember the date. if you don;t rember the date put between say 2010-2015 a guess of the time frame and the computer should find it. then if she did not press charges it will say case closed. print it up and take it with you. if she did press charges still print it up. be sure to mark the self defense box and then you will be able to explain your story. But it will for sure be in the computer. never lie with this or they will deny you.

Sheriff department who arrested should have an arrest report that could be helpful also the district attorney or whatever the equivalent is in your area should have record of charges being dismissed.
