Hello Everyone!

its been a while since I was here last but I just wondered if people could help me.

My 2 year greencard expires in December and according to the USCIS calculator the 90 day window opens in September.

I am traveling back to the UK in October to see family and I was just wondering should I send my application as soon as the 90 day window opens or should I wait till I get back from the UK in October, I just worry about getting a biometrics appointment for when I’m out of town.

thanks!

Why not send it as soon as you can under the 90 day window? That way if you get the NOA extending your GC then you are fine if you don't then your still have your GC that is unexpired.

Ideally you'd want to send it as soon as possible. But keep the following in mind - your service center is CSC which is way backed up currently, and recently was experiencing delays just to cash the check of well over 30+ days and longer in many cases. It may clear up over time or it may not. VSC had the same issue, but it's clearing up. Some people had biometrics waived for CSC, so in some cases you may not receive the letter. We just received our biometrics letter from VSC not too long after our NOA1 which was significantly delayed from the backlog. Our appointment date is within ten days.

Walk-in biometrics is always a possibility, of course... but I would not commit to travel at all until you have the NOA1, and I would not be confident on how much of a delay there would be for it. The longer one process takes, the longer it would take to receive the biometrics notice.
