You can do whatever you wish.... There is no prescribed right or wrong method. My advice is to do it in such a way that they know what they are receiveing so it can be routed properly, but that is simply my personal preference.

From what I've heard, you should make a copy of the RFE letter that you got in the mail and attach it to the top of the documentation you're sending back.

When I sent back the RFE documentation last week, I attached a simple letter explaining what I had included in the packet and put the RFE notice that I got at the top of my documents.

You can do whatever you wish.... There is no prescribed right or wrong method. My advice is to do it in such a way that they know what they are receiveing so it can be routed properly, but that is simply my personal preference.

05/06/09 - Mailed I-751

05/15/09 - Check cashed by VSC

05/18/09 - Received I-751 Receipt Notice

05/30/09 - Received Biometric appointment for 06/08 (dated 05/22)

06/08/09 - Completed biometrics. Still unable to access case status online. Now the real wait begins!

06/09/09 - Finally case status showed up online!. Touched today

09/21/09 - Approved (Letter from USCIS Vermont, dated 09/16/09)

09/23/09 - Card production ordered

09/30/09 - Card received!. USCIS done until citizenship!

05/21/10 - Mailed N-400

05/24/10 - N-400 received at Dallas, TX Lockbox

06/01/10 - Check cashed

06/04/10 - Received N-400 receipt notice (NOA dated 05/27)

06/29/10 - Placed service request for not receiving biometrics. Transferred to immigration officer, who confirmed that the Biometrics

letter has been generated and I would be receiving it shortly.

My husband and I are sending back an RFE that we received. Do I need to attach a cover letter or anything, or only the original RFE they sent and the evidence we're sending back? Thanks -Jessica

I sent an RFE an this is what I included in it. .

My RFE told me to send back the letter that they had sent me, not a copy. And I did that.

I sent a cover letter just covering all that is in the package.

My advice is to send it back ASAP, a week after it was recieved I got an email saying they have resumed my case and three weeks later they haven't moved on it yet.

Send original RFE letter not a COPY. A copy of the RFE letter is just for your records.

Send it back ASAP. DO NOT take your time on it.
