Entered earlier today at JFK POE -- we were moved across few lines as it was really busy. We waited for around 1 hour, and it was our turn. The CBP officer that we saw, was really angry, and spoke to us in a very mean way. He got our passports and envelopes, scanned the passports, ripped the envelopes open very angrily, and took our fingerprints and photos. We are F4 category, we didn't go to secondary or anything, we only spent like 4-5 minutes with him, he stamped our passports, threw our immigration packets in the corner of his desk, and told us GO!.

I might be crazy, but I feel like we should have gone through more procedure? Am I overthinking this?

Thanks

Yeah I mean, it seemed like he got angry when he saw our immigration package (seemed like he had dealt with a lot of those today) -- anyways. Yeah we have stamps so technically we're green card holders now.

Hopping no delays with my SSN (even though i'm making a visit on monday to the SSA office), and my GC.

All I can say, is welcome to NY!

That, and, get used to the NY attitude....you will see it a LOT.    Just keep being nice, there *are* nice people in the city, believe me...(usually just not normally the native NY'kers, I've found)

Haha, so true. I met a colleague from Egypt north of NYC for a conference where we were co-presenting. He'd been in the USA once before in North Carolina. On the first night in NYC we got the usual treatment from a NYC waitress and at one point during the dinner he lowered his voice to a whisper and confided to me, "people are different here." I laughed and said the same, "Welcome to NY!"

Yeah, seems like a lot of Americans are just all out angry anymore. Lots of divisions these days. Just wait until you drive around here lol. I've noticed that in China and Korea, they honk the horn as a normal thing. When they honk here, better watch out! Even when I would bring shipping containers to CBP here in Detroit at the Canadian border, they would have an attitude. Its like if they can't exorcise their demons on us each day, they get ornery lol

Welcome to NYC! I just moved here too. Before you visit the SSA on Monday, check so that your entry is in the SAVE database: https://www.uscis.gov/save/casecheck. I applied for my SSN a few days after my entry and they couldn't find me in the system, so they had to manually verify my legal status which can take a long time. But I was issued my number a day after I could finally find an open SAVE case on my I-94 number. Just a tip!

Hello,

I checked there both with my A-number and passport number, but didn't find anything. Where would I find the i-94 number?

Thanks

I didn't think an F4 gets an I-94.
