Hi again (F)

After I wrote an e-mail to the Consulate on Friday I got this reply (Monday 7):

Ms. A.:

An appointment is scheduled for Tuesday, June 5th, at 10:00 a.m.

This is the earliest available date.

Sincerely,

Immigrant Visa Unit

My question is: Am I going to be interviewed once again or the purpose of this appointment is just to present my document and afterwards the Consul will decide upon my visa application?

This is the review of the experience I had at the interview:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=66801

As I could see the initial interviews were scheduled at 8am as was mine, but afterwards there were people showing up for additional proceeding at 10 or 10:30 when the Consul comes to his working place :)

Anyone with similar experience?

Prognosis....something pls?!?

...what a petty, waiting for 5 weeks just for showing a peace of paper that can be done in just 5 min....mea culpa, mea culpa....but after all, I’m relatively ok with their quick reply

CONGRATS TO ALL THE NICE COUPLES THAT ALREADY GOT THEIR APPROVALS !!!

:dance::dance::dance::dance:

Re: K-1 fiancée visa application – Police Certificate

Dear Madam/Sir,

I am writing to you in regard to my K-1 fiancée visa interview that was preformed yesterday - May 3, 2007.

Details:

Name of fiancée: AA

Passport Number: XXXXXX

Name of USC petitioner: XX

INS Receipt Number: EACXXXXXXXXXX

Petition Approval date: March, 13

Case Number: SKOXXXXXXXXXX

Alien Number Assigned: AXXXXXXXXX

I was given signed notice by American Consular Officer with marked 221(g) section of the Immigration and Naturalization Act with a note that Police Certificate is required.

I was advised that I should obtain my Police clearance and immediately notify the American Consular Section by e-mail in order to complete my visa application and pursue the procedure to the point of visa issuance.

Please note that my fingerprints have been taken as well as my DS-156K sworn statement signed and all documentary proof for my K-1 fiancée visa application has been reviewed and kept at the Consulate.

Thus, with this e-mail I’m expressing my readiness to show my Police Certificate received from the Macedonian officials – Ministry of Interior, to the American Consular Officer since I have these documents in my possession. (both Macedonian original and English certified translation)

I can be contacted at any time at:

Bla, bla, bla

I hope that I will receive additional appointment from the Consular Section very soon.

Sincerely,

AA

(K-1 fiancée visa applicant)

I AM NOT SURE HOW THEY DO IT IN YOUR COUNTRY AT THE EMBASSY THERE, BUT THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO US. AND THEY GAVE US THE ADDRESS OF DHL AND TOLD US TO SEND THE PAPERS DHL AND WE WOULD BE APPROVED.

WE WERE NOT TOLD THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO GET ANOTHER INTERVIEW DATE

Great letter...

You are working with local procedure so your experience will mostly be Macedonia specific. My consulate would have only required presentation of the document(s) via delivery service, fax, or post. Having said that, I would expect your "interview" to be uneventful......

YMMV

Thank you all for your replies and support :)

The procedures have changed, yes. There were notifications all over the waiting room that due to increased number of visa applications there is no longer possibility to send additional papers via mail or fax...lucky me huh....I just wonder why they don’t divide immigrant and non-immigrant applications and interviews etc.

I guess we’ll just have to wait...

BUT the bottom line is that I’m not afraid anymore, no, no, even if I’m interviewed once again I know I have nothing to hide and I’ll be as calm and as possible.

We have a grater cause to deal with here don’t we – love!

My fiancé has a saying: What has this “minor detail” anything to do with the whole eternity in front of us

God bless you all!
