SSN

Hi

 

When I was in college in US almost twenty years ago, I applied for SSC for non working and got the SSC and number for.

I lost the card but still remember my number so I put my SS number on I129 form.

do you think that would be a problem for processing  time? may take longer because I have SSN?

I don't see it taking longer. If anything it is a help to them because it gives an additional reference when it comes to identifying you.

No, you should have a problem with it at all but don't be surprised if they ask about it during the interview.

It won't make any difference.

I was on a J1 visa 20 years before I applied for K1. I knew I had a SSN but couldn't find it so left it off the form. Worried about it a little.

 

Later I found an old W2 with it on, so was able to use it for my marriage license etc. It didn't cause any problems that I'd left it off K1 so I can't see that putting it on would have caused more issues.

 

Once I'd entered on K1 I went to social security office with my number and passport and they were able to look me up, issue new card, change my details etc.
