Too bad you couldn't request for another adjudicator to look over your case. Clearly the woman that's handling your case is doing an inadequate job and wants to make it hell for you, ugh.

I hope things get straightened out quickly! I really feel for you guys. Hopefully this will be a thing of the past very shortly. :)

Bowflex,

You and your wife have our sympathy and prayers. It's screwed up when a "civil servant" is neither civil nor serving.

I hope you will consider zyggy's idea of taking it to the next level.

Indeed... in this case your senator's office and your attorney might have more luck if they talk to the Chief of the Immigrant Visa Unit in Montreal... and if push comes to shove.. the Deputy Consul or the Consul himself...

we just called

nothing new

hasnt looked at it

5 weeks and counting, was supposed to take "a couple of days"

my heart's broken

if she felt so strongly about it and knew she was right, she'd have done it asap and thrown it in our faces, right? so she MUST have realized her mistake? right? :/

she could've just said "oh i must've missed (such and such) paper" and asked us to mail in the passport, but she has decided to be a baby ("oh you're gonna have your lawyers and senator call, well it's just gonna take longer and longer" and she told that to our senator, too).

she also knows my time here in canada might be limited as well, which she was briefed on from our senator, but now she's just waiting it out and hoping i have to leave before she makes a decision?

thing is, canada's being nice to me :) they realize how difficult it is to get a birth certificate from a country that is no longer... well... a country (yugoslavia). serbia has made their statement that we are not welcome in their country. no place to go.

i feel like a nomad. maybe my canadian citizenship will come before she makes a decision, and i can apply for hubby to come here. canada's so much nicer and has extended their times for us and listened. but my friends and home is in the US, and i miss seeing my husband every day, and hanging out with his mom (who was and is one of my best friends).

i missed being there for our nieces and nephew. i want to go and visit his grandma, she's been through so much lately but keeps hanging on so she can see me and hubby together again.

i'm broken :clock:

we (well, my husband) just got back from a meeting with our lawyer (waste of his lunch hour).

he basically said no sense in calling, just wait it out.

i don't think so.

it was supposed to be "couple of days" and it's almost 6 weeks. this lady is being a baby, a b*tch, and stubborn (among other things and choice words). i'm tired of suckin everyone's ####### to get answers. doesn't seem like being nice and polite does anything. not that we will stop being so, but it just doesn't seem like anything gets done as a result except them being rude back and knowing there's nothing we can say or want to cause they hold the golden key :girlwerewolf2xn:

zyggy, how can we get into contact with the people you mentioned? this is getting ridiculous now. i will also im you, in case you don't make it to this thread.

oh, also, lawyer said consulate basically told that that the reason it hasn't been looked at was in fact because we, the lawyer, and senator called "so much". well, dumbass, that is abusing your power and being a stubborn little #######. that is not how the law should work, that is not how any of this should work. in any kind of occupation. if any of us pulled this kind of b.s. at work, we'd be fired so quickly.

I hope when this is over and finished you file a bigass formal complaint with American Citizens services, the Director of the Consulate and anyone else you can find. This is total #######. Is there a District Director you can contact?

My wife has been back since June 5, 2007. Now we're just livin' man, L I V I N :)

I wish we could get this story to a local newspaper or television station or something. I bet heads would start rolling then. *sigh*
