FBI agent's text reportedly disclosed by Justice watchdog: 'We'll stop' Trump from becoming president

• An FBI agent who worked on the special counsel's Russia probe texted another agent that 'We'll stop' Donald Trump from getting elected president, the Washington Post reported.
• Previous texts exchanged by Peter Strzok and Lisa Page had already landed the pair in hot water.
• The newly revealed messages appear to be the most explicit texts so far made public.

I'm pretty sure I had a similar conversation with a friend of mine. You know, democracy and all that? I also spoke that way in a UK taxi once when the driver was asking about how Trump was even a candidate for office. "Oh don't worry. He won't be President. We'll stop it." (Unfortunately I was wrong).

 

Regardless though, seems like even more reason to applaud Mueller for removing Strzok from the team as early as possible given the information available to Mueller.

Well if you were at a bar somewhere and said I hope some one dies it would be completely different than saying it if you were doctor holding the scalpel and you said it about the patient you were about to operate on.

 

Surely your TDS is not so bad you cant see how two FBI agents saying it about someone they are investigating is not problematic.

They were sending texts. They could have been at home on the couch texting each other while watching the news. Or heck, they could have been at bars texting each other. I'm sure you have some image in your mind that they were at their desks thinking "Muhahaha we will sabotage this". That may be true, but it may not.

 

Regardless, we've already seen evidence that those two had been acting inappropriately. That's why they are no longer part of Mueller's investigation. I'm sure internally he has scrubbed the work they have done and had someone repeat it. Yes these new texts continue to make them look bad. But they already looked bad and were dealt with accordingly.

  I'm actually OK with investigating anything where they have evidence of something suspicious occurring. That is their job.
