We will be sending off our application for AOS in about a week . Would like to know how much the process will cost and how long it will take. Thank you!

~Moved to Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports~

Cost for AOS (I-485 and biometrics, EAD/AP are free) is $1225, all one check/money order is fine.

Work permit and AP are taking probably 3-4 months about, could be little faster or slower.

For green card itself, could be anywhere from 12-15 months honestly. Just depends how fast it goes, whether RFE's or interview or no interview.

Sorry to ask this here. My medical will expired on Feb next year, just wonder if the green card take 12-15 months, should I get new medical after this?

Long as medical is current when you submit the AOS packet you should be fine. My husbands medical expired last November during the AOS process but received GC in the mail in December no issues.

Do you think the time it takes to renew an EAD and the initial EAD application processing time is the same?

I have 2 friends in the process of renewal right now. The one friend has been waiting since February with no update and the other has his last day of work this week because his EAD is expiring. It feels like it is taking as long...

You get an auto renewal. Or you mean people with different visas who are now needing a new class EAD? Those are not renewals, was told are a bit faster as they are accepting those expedites but 3 months at least still.

No, they didn't get an auto-renewal and they are renewing their EAD. But both of them are spouses of E2 Visa Holders. They don't get the 180 days extension due to their category. Maybe it is because of their category.

Yup makes sense that is another class the current USCIS dislikes. Know people with nafta spouse had horrible EAD waits as well.

My wife and I filed for AOS January 19., 2018 and just got her Greencard in the mail today (6/14/18) . We didn't even get her EAD or AP before the GC. I know most are getting their EAD/AP in 4-6 months and their GC in around 12. I'd recommend looking at your local CIS office processing times to get a better idea of where you'll be. We were right in the middle of what was average for our area.

This is for AOS but it might help you see what might be a rough estimate of how long: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/aosstats.php
