How long until I get my letter from the embassy?

Hi :)

We were approved 21st May but still waiting; just curious as to how long the average wait is? I was hopeful to have my medical scheduled for July, and my interview for August (won't have my 2nd MMR jab until 21st June anyway).

Am I right that if I don't have it by next week, I am okay to make the phone call to get my new case number? I can't remember if I read that I needed the letter for the medical exam or, couldn't schedule my interview without it or something.

As always, just trying to be timely.

Thanks all!

Hi there. My American fiance called the office 2 weeks after getting the noa2 and they gave him the case number over the phone.

I've tried booking an appointment online (before getting the letter from the consulate here in uk)...apparently it takes an additional weeks before the UK get the file from the US so you can book your interview date. Hope this helps x

Thank you :) This does help.

From what I've read, after the petitioner receives the NOA2 they should also get a letter from the NVC with the new case number. This letter gets sent once your case is sent to the consulate, then when the consulate receives the case, they send the beneficiary a letter. I was just worrying as I didn't want there to be no appointments in July / August, and I guess I just needed some reassurance that I hadn't missed any steps of the process.

Thanks again! x

I have booked my medical for the 7th of July..  i called the Medical center directly and booked with only my case number and invoice ID

My CEAC still reports as "at NVC" when i called the NVC they said that everything is OK and our application will be sent to the London embassy shortly.

Our NOA2 was approved on the 19th May, hard copy received 22nd of may and then NVC received and processed and assigned our case number on the 13th of June... have not submited a DS-160 yet going to wait until next week and then see if NVC updates their system... Really dont want to have to cancel my Medical appointment from what i have read they just want to confirm that your LND number is correct so i may just submit a DS-160 and print off the CEAC case status online and take that to the medical.

Has anyone here actually attended the medical without the letter and just the NVC case number and Invoice ID?

Really cannot wait to get this process over with as have not seen my Fiance since last October :(

hey, if you get an email (did you give them your email yet?) from the nvc when there's movement you can use this. they just need proof of your case number. we were approved may 21st and they just told my fiance our case was assigned on the 8th of june. you hopefully should have gotten. notification before the 7th of something happening x

looks like we are on the same time frame. we got an email to say the case was approved and was going to the nvc on the 21st. we didn't get the letter for like 2 weeks after that. still nothing from nvc, but we called and they gave us the case number, and confirmed the number was assigned on the 8th. they said we should get an email when the case changes to "in transit" to the embacy. hopefully we both get something soon! I've been scared to book my medical until then
