Hi,I have an Indian citizeship and born in Saudi Arabia. I came to United States to pursue my master degree in 2016 and working currently on OPT. Is it possible for me to apply for a diversity visa (Green Card lottery) when I am on OPT? Is it a good idea to apply for green card lottery in this case.

Please suggest me on this.

Thank you,

Tina

The only relevant aspect in all the above is if you were born in an eligible country, which you were (you clearly meet the other eligibility requirement, education). Citizenship or current place of residence is meaningless for DV.

As to whether it’s a “good idea”, well if you want a green card, sure, why not... assuming the lottery is still around in future. The next entry period will be around October. Make sure you only enter via the official page at https://www.dvlottery.state.gov/ - the page will update probably in September to announce the next entry period. Be aware that the next lottery draw, if it happens, will be for visas to be processed from Oct 2019-Sep 2020.

Yes, thank you very much for the reply. I am on OPT. What could be the possible consequences that I will face? (With H1 and travelling accross the country)

I have no clue, this is a dv forum, suggest you ask those questions in a relevant forum for opt or H1.

however it sounds like you haven’t even applied for dv yet so soonest you’ll even know if you were selected is May next year, assuming the lottery survives that long.

None

Hi, i received my Visa under DV category based on the country of chargeability (UAE) but found that they also printed my country of chargeability under nationality blank while my nationality is pakistan will this be a issue
Regards

Printed it where?

I doubt it will be an issue if you have the visa, all the relevant info is in the brown envelope.

also please don’t hijack other threads ...
