Their status does not preclude them from buying Insurance.

Good to know.

MediCal is pretty much given out like candy so my guess is that they did not pay for it.

IF they did not provide there own insurance.... the US government paid probably close to a half of million dollars in medical bills on their behalf. (This is only an assumption though but we all know this kind of stuff does happen often).

After living in CA for 5 years and just moving away I can tell you that more than likely they got MediCal and the US Government paid for the births of those 3 US Citizens.

[feeling bad for the new mom] Why?

Because ICE left her in a very precarious situation, a highly pregnant woman, in shock, with a couple of kids in tow.  That could have easily turned out much worse for the family.  She might not be entitled to live in the US, but as a fellow human being she's still entitled to be treated with some basic level of consideration.  ICE could and should have asked her if she needed any assistance,  maybe escort her to the hospital where there'd be enough people to take care of her.  Do your job, ICE, but maybe not act like xxxxxx while doing it, OK?

The video I saw and the news as well said the kids were no where even near them at that point in time. So why are you saying kids in tow? She was treated with the basic level of consideration because she was able to have the already planned C section and subsequent care under the tax payers dime.

Why would they ask her if she needed assistance, you do know that she was not in labor right and the C section was planned? ICE was doing it's job and they probably were tailing them anyway.

I misread that part.

That she was about to have a C section means that she was highly pregnant and thus in risk of going into labor at any moment, especially when under the shock of having her husband arrested.  ICE were doing their job, no argument about that, but they were also pretty ruthless about it.

Also, why do you assume that the birth was payed for by the taxpayer?  Do you have anything to back that up besides prejudice?  It might just as well be that they payed for their insurance.  It might even be the case that their taxes helped to pay for some Americans' healthcare.

Do you know how much a C section costs in California, how much out of pocket expenses you have to pay AFTER insurance?????? I do because I have 2 daughters delivered by C Section in California, they are 5 and 19 months old. I had to pay over $1k each out of pocket after insurance paid the hospital. I highly doubt a Illegal with 5 kids living in San Bernardino can scrap that money together let alone have insurance other than MediCal.

Their taxes paid for an American's healthcare????? Hahahahahababababa that is laughable at best. They had 2 USC children at the time and now 3 USC children living San Bernardino. I doubt they paid much if any taxes at all. SB is a s'hole city and pretty much the only people that are living in the city proper are hoodrats and Illegals, and that is the truth. I have met many people both citizens, legal and illegal immigrants move out of that city due to the crime and the low QOL. When I lived in Pasadena(45mins away from there) my Illegal immigrant neighbor grew up there and had to get away due to the crime.

Do you know even how much a average or below working parent gets per child from taxes????

You might consider them ruthless but that highly pregnant woman was able to drive, pick up and drive her children somewhere else and get herself to the hospital 7 hours later ... she did not seem in any rush herself, I doubt her medical situation was as dire as you suggest, despite the increased shock of her husbands arrest

Not sure that would help the narrative.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
