You are the same case as me. My husband proposed to me while I visit him here and we got married 2 months ago.

 

So the packet i filed included:

"I-130 (Petition for Alien Relative)"
"I-130A (Supplemental Information for Spouse Beneficiary)"
"I-485 (Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status)"
"I-864 (Affidavit of Support Under Section 213A of the INA)"
"I-765 (Application for Employment Authorization)"
"I-131 (Application for Travel Document)"
 

I mailed my packet on May 15 and received the receipt and the biometric appointment letter on June 9. And today I had my biometric done.

Breakdown: 

i-130 $535

i-485 $1225 (biometric fee $85 included)

 

I-131 and I-765 is free if file together with I-485

You also need the I-693 (Medical Form). However, I suggest waiting until you get your interview notice. The medical form expires one year after you submit it to USCIS. Most offices take 10-12 months to schedule interviews but some take more. So I suggest waiting until you know 100% when your interview is going to happen so you don't risk the medical form expiring and then having to pay another $400 to do a second one. They'll send you a letter saying, "Please bring your I-693 Form to your interview" etc. 

 

I did mine last year because I thought for sure our interview would be in July 2018. But now it's July 2018 and I still have no interview scheduled. I have a feeling I'll have to do it again. So just wait on that and make sure you write it down somewhere so you don't forget. You need to get the medical form and exam completed by a civil surgeon (doctor approved by USCIS). You can just google "USCIS civil surgeon + <your zip code>" to find one in your area. I suggest calling a few of them to compare prices. If you don't have your vaccination record, call someone back home to look for it and send it to you.

the medical center i went to they said they can 'renew' it for me if it's expired haha

That's pretty awesome. Maybe my doctor will do the same thing. I'm so peeved that my interview is still unscheduled. I thought for sure we'd get the notice sometime last month, but alas, it was not meant to be.

 

So yeah OP, make sure you write down somewhere to do the medical form after you receive your interview notice. It'll be a lot easier to do it that way instead of worrying whether you have to do it a second time and spend all that money again. Good luck and keep us updated! Most adjustments from tourist visas are fine. Obviously there are fraudulent cases but honestly, at the interview stage, interviewing officers are trained to read people. Even when my husband and I had just started dating and we were meeting each other's friends, people would ask us, "Are you guys together?". People can tell pretty easily. But that's not to say you guys shouldn't be prepared. Do your homework, continue to collect paperwork even after you submit the packet and practice a little for your interview. Good luck!!
