I'm currently filling out I-864 forms as a sponsor for my wife, and will likely do so for my father as a joint sponsor. If I fill out my father's paperwork for him to review and sign, should I enter myself as the preparer? Sorry, new to the process and worrying about every detail.

To my understanding, a preparer would be an attorney, but this is just how I interpreted it and aren't 100% sure. That being said, I filled out everything for my wife and didn't list myself as a preparer. Just make sure you fill out the paperwork together or go over with her it to make sure all the information is correct.

Became a couple April 2, 2016

First trip to Belgium: June 28 - August 11, 2016

Second trip to Belgium: December 15, 2016 - March 11, 2017

 

K1

Sent in I-129F September 14, 2016

Visa received in hand April 6, 2017

I-129F to K1 in hand: 204 days (6 months 23 days)

 

Arrived into the US May 10, 2017

Married June 2, 2017!!

 

AOS

Sent AOS packet January 19, 2018

Greencard received in mail June 14, 2018

AOS to Greencard in hand: 146 days (4 months 26 days)

Hi, I filled up forms for my daughter who is a minor, so I entered my name as the preparer (I also signed on her behalf). They accepted my forms and I received no RFE. Hope that helps.

TIMELINE FOR AOS from B1/B2 visa

 

05/21/2018 – Sent I-485, I-765 and I-131 packets via Fedex (Chicago Lockbox)
05/23/2018 – Packet delivered to USCIS (0 days).
05/29/2018 – Received text/email notification NOA1 (6 days)
06/08/2018 – Received biometrics appointment letter/I-797C hardcopy in mail (16 days). Priority Date on NOA says 06/01/18.

06/18/2018 – Biometrics done (26 days)

06/21/2018 – Case status changed to "Case is Ready to be scheduled for an interview" (29 days)

06/22/2018 – Courtesy letter (reminder to bring I-693 medical report to interview) received in mail (30 days). Letter dated 06/14/18

 

07/10/2018 – Submitted change of address
07/14/2018 – Email from USCIS confirming successful change of address

 

09/15/2018 – Online status changed to "Approved" for I-765
09/17/2018 - Received I-797 (NOA) hardcopy of approved I-765 in mail

09/18/2018 – Online status changed to "New card is being produced" for I-765

09/26/2018 – Received EAD/AP card in mail. No online or text updates received.

 

09/27/2018 – Applied for SSN at SSA (in person)
10/05/2018 – Received SS card in mail

 

06/25/2019 – Received email notification that case status has changed to "Interview was Scheduled" (400 days)

07/03/2019 – Received hardcopy of notice for interview (note: letter was sent to my old address, and was forwarded to my new address)

07/29/2019 – Interview held @ Sacramento office (1045hrs)
07/29/2019 – Case status changed to "Initial Review" (2100hrs)
07/30/2019 – Case status changed to "Card/Document Production" (0100 hrs)
08/01/2019 – Case status changed to "Card was mailed to me"
08/02/2019 – AOS approval notice received in mail

08/02/2019 – Case status changed to "Card was picked up by USPS"
08/05/2019 – Green Card in hand
