It does not need to be notarized. Company letterhead is all that is expected. There is no specific period of validity but I would recommend the letter be dated as close to the interview date as is practical. A date after returning the P3 is probably close enough. If it is dated earlier, I would be certain to suppliment the letter with more current pay-stubs.

In Kiev there is no returning of P3 information as all documents are presented at the interview

YMMV

Thanks for the help guys! Reason I'm asking...back in January I planned to do DCF and got this document from my boss. I hate to ask him for another one, so I was thinking about submitting this letter dated from January along with my most recent paystubs. Think this will be ok?

Also, do paystubs, bank statements, etc. for I-134 and/or I-864 need to be originals or are photocopies ok?

The only originals that I ever provided in this entire process were documents that had my signature on them... everything else was copies....

My employment letter that I provided was dated June 2006 for a May 2007 interview... Have no idea if my SO presented it or not because I told her to first only submit my 2006 tax return and copies of pay stubs. I asked her to not present the I-134 because it is optional for a "K" visa. I will find out more next week when I am in Ukraine.

YMMV
