2007-04-16: I-485 and I-765 sent to Chicago (My AOS/EAD checklist)

2007-04-17: Received at Chicago

2007-04-23: NOA1 date (both)

2007-05-10: Biometrics appointment (both - Biometrics review)

2007-06-05: AOS interview letter date

2007-06-13: AOS interview letter received in mail

2007-07-03: EAD card production ordered

2007-07-07: EAD card received! (yay!)

2007-08-23: AOS interview (Documents / Interview review)

2007-08-23: Green card production ordered!!!

2007-08-24: Welcome notice mailed!

Hi Everyone:

He got it!!!!

Thanks for the nice messages! Yesterday was a completely crazy day and I didn't sleep a wink the night before. Jon got there at 7:15 and was brought in before 8. His experience was much like cdngirl's -- He zoomed through security with his clear folder, his x-ray, and his letter --thanks to all of your posts about the rules of security. He was then sent into a holding area downstairs by the elevators until he went up to the cashier area. He was given a ticket and told to wait to be called up to submit his documentation and pay the fee.

He was called into a room about 10 minutes later and spoke with a really nice gentleman for about 7 minutes. Yes, 7. Jon said he asked nothing about how we met or the like, but asked him about his potential job. He then assured Jon that he could get the temporary work authorization at Pearson -- does anyone know if this is the case?

That was it. He congratulated Jon and sent him on his way. Interestingly, the guy was from Berkeley -- about an hour away from me and he recommended some bookstores and restaurants :-) and Jon was on the phone at 6:15 California time to give me the new!

Jon kept assuring me that all would be well and he was right. This part of the process was a piece of cake, but without a doubt VisaJourney made that the case. We can't thank you enough!

I'm still praying hard for some more interviews!!!

Phone Call Two: April 13, 2007: No Date: She said that while no date is scheduled, they're moving toward our date of January 17th and that late May seems likely for an interview.

Phone Call Three: April 17, 2007 -- No Date: Our interview should be within the 6-8 week timeframe.

Letter from Congressional Representative: We have a backlog of up to six months for appointments. It is doubtful we will be able to accommodate him before June.

Phone Call Four: Montreal gives Jon an interview date of May 9th -- that's next week. And supposedly Packet 4 is in the mail.
