Hello everyone , I helped a family member by supporting them with affidavit of support when she applied for a K1 visa. He was approved in October 2017 and they got married in November ,2017. I submitted my affidavit of support when they apple is for AOS. He received his work permit and SS# and awaiting the interview.

My question is .. I filed the 1 130 for my husband in December , 2017 and will need to do the affidavit for him as well. Will helping my family affect my husband in any way .

Their income was insufficient for them to get approve and I make about 68,000 per  year.

For the I-864 for your husband, you will need to count your family member in your household count.

When it comes time to do your husband's affidavit of support, you will indicate a "1" in a space when asked about immigrants you have sponsored who are now permanent residents, if applicable.  This WILL be applicable if the person you sponsored has their green card (is a permanent resident) at the time you execute the I-864 for your spouse.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
