I just read this girl's story today, and I was so upset for her and her family! This is awful!!

I don't know many details about what happened, but I do know that teens (even wild, rebellious, or out of control ones) deserve a second chance. And they most definitely deserve punishment, but it should fit the crime.

People EVERYWHERE (especially in Texas) should speak out to their local government about this injustice and make sure to tell your senators, etc. that you are a constituent and make them LISTEN!

Write to the judge, or the local government, television stations, or just write some encouraging words for her. Anything that you can do, it will help.

Please help spread the word about this story. She deserves a good life. This could happen to your son or daughter if we don't speak out.

it was as I figured; not a prison but a juvenile detention center, not 7 years (undetermined - not to exceed her 21st birthday), history of disciplinary problems, just trying to get money on the website (trust fund)

No sympathy at all.

She attacked a school official who was injured, plead not guilty, and has no remorse (since the official 'wasn't that injured'). What an angel...

Having no prior record doesn't mean she wasn't a problem...just means wasn't 'caught' (or procecuted)...

Did not hear about this before, I am glad she is out, is so sad to think on a 14 year old girl in prision, I hope she makes better decisions after beeing apart from family and friends for one year. I also hope that they had punished the right person since the wikipedia link that kitkat listed says something about her having problems for her mother comments to the education system.
