My hubby and I met on a forum for an animated film about, of all things, Balto, back when we were both teens/early 20s. :jest:  Whenever I tell people that they get a good chuckle, including the immigration officer.  A mutual friend introduced us through private messages, because my husband liked my art and wanted to talk to me but thought it'd be rude to just message me out of nowhere.    I never in my wildest dreams thought it'd develop into something more, and neither did he!

You've already gotten some great advice from others.  Keep your chat logs, take lots of photos, visit multiple times, and be honest!   Best of luck to you and your fiance!

We met on Facebook, totally random, both posted comments on the status of the one mutual friend we had at that time. He thought my comment intelligent and messaged me. We started chatting, I was sure this was never going to be more than virtual flirting. Here we are, 5 years later, married and scheduled for the citizenship interview.

We always told our story in detail at all stages of this process and meeting online has never been an issue. It's 2018, people live and meet online!

Everyone else has suggested to me just include a lot of proof of relationship and make many visits. I think we will be ok. I'm more concerned now with over coming any other red flags.

Yeah I hope everything goes ok for everyone.  I have only made one visit, but will make my second one when I come back to attend the interview with her is my plan.  Its just so expensive to travel and I can't get that much time off of work to go that often unfortunately.

@EmmNM what you need is plenty or as much as possible face time together and proof that you have a real relationship. You cannot fake the fact that you both where together and did stuff. Ours was 1 visit and filed for K-1, but we did saw each other 3 times after and I flew to see her and spend time with my now wife.  By the time i had my interview it was a total of 4 times and maybe 1.5 months together. She knows part of my family and I know hers also. You have to have enough evidence for that interview. I don't know what goes on in the embassy in Marrocco, but evidence is a big plus and frontloading in your case is to late, since you already filed. We literally racked up evidence for the interview, i was worried as much as you. Russia, Ukraine and South America.

There is not anything you (or anyone else) can do about age difference, prior divorces..........therefore, as much face time with your fiance and his family as possible is important, imo.

@EmmNM communication does not limit itself to just chatlogs, emails, video chats. We did the old school of actual snail mail to each other. I send her few postcards, and a small package a couple of times. Some nonsence, but was a little present for her. The last time I saw her, I decided on buying her a ring and proposed, which i kept a receipt and filed it as evidence. We had to many chatlogs, because we communicated daily and multiple times of the day. I work 10 hour days and so the answers could and came when I was asleep or she was.

Congratulations on your marriage! Have fun this summer. I'm sure it will be super hot. Out of curiosity what chat app did you use? When did you meet him online?

We met on Brazilian Cupid..... I have been to Brazil twice since we met online and I am going back for my 3rd visit on July 13th. Our love is very real and when they see us together, there will be no doubt! I will attend her interview in Rio de Janeiro, even though I will have to wait outside during the interview.
