Scroll to the top of this page. See the link that says Guides? Click on it. Read it.

Go to www.uscis.gov. Click on "immigration forms." Download the I-129F. Read the instructions. Do the same with form G-325A.

Read the FAQ secion here. And then surf the immigration timelines tab.

Then come back with a list of specific questions, if some remain.

Best of luck!

Oh - and to your specific questions, to petition at this point, you are not required to show any income proof. At the interview, later on, you will have to prove that either your fiance can self-sponsor (has a ton'o'money) or more probably, that you make 100% of the federal poverty level (note: later in the process, when you reach the point of adjusting status, aka: getting a green card) you'll need to show 125% of the federal poverty level. So 125% is a good rule of thumb now. Those guidelines in dollar amounts are also available on the USCIS website, form I-864P.

For now, to apply, you must show that you've met, in person, in the last 2 years (aka, been in the same place at the same time within the last 2 years), and that you are both free and able to marry. The I-129F instructions will tell you what else you need.

ALWAYS check the actual government sites for the original forms to fill out and ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS read the instructions. Then read them again. Then read the form itself. Then read the instructions again. Reading is your friend in this process.
