You might be right. It is remotely possible it will save some time, if for some reason the I-130 gets hung up. I think it is also remotely possible that under the new procedures, it could slow down the process. We just don't know what USCIS will do if they find and marry the two petitions. If they don't find and marry the petitions, the two horses in the race scenario is a good one.

I guess if they don't mind the additional trouble and cost, maybe it's worth it. I wouldn't do it but it's not my case.

pushbrk,

I've no idea if it will save him any time. I don't think it will lose him any time.

moet,

In which case, get that I-129f submitted.

Yodrak

thanks for replying yodrak, my lawyer very well knew that he had to apply for the k3 so i could possibly get there sooner!! but he put the blame on one of the girls in his office...anyways i obviously want to be with my wife asap, its really taking a toll on us...we want to start our lives together and have a family soon!!

Do you think filing the I-129F now, 3 months after filing the I-130 will gain him any time? ....

pushbrk,

Even if the I-130 does not get hung up at the USCIS Service Center it will take several months to get through the NVC. The amount of time since the I-130 was submitted is not yet so great that an I-129f does not have a chance, especially given that the I-130 is still not approved. So if time is of the essence for moet, and he says that it is, go ahead and spend the money if that's his priority.

I don't know if I'd do it, either. But I'm not him and his priorities may not be mine.

Review the VJ Guides and Immigration Timelines.

Yodrak

hey yodrak thanks for all your help! just have a question for you, if i don't file for the k3 and wait for the i130 to get approved, how long does it usually take and what would be the next step after the i130 gets approved....thanks

moet,

Up to you. You've been given the basic principles involved already, it's your decision to make.
