Hi all,

Question, if there's a child who's not a dependent, by choice of the mother, and there's no communication with the mother or child for nearly 10 years now, again her choice, should the child even be listed on the N-400 Application? Anyone been in a similar situation or have suggestions?

Thanks for your time!

@Dbkrantz, I don't have comforting news for you. I'm applying for naturalization from outside the US because my husband and I have a foreign government assignment to the UK, and the USCIS officer at the Embassy in London mentioned to me that NY has one of the longest processing times at the moment.

We do get those random "reviewing your case" notifications on the N400 case; my husband got his 10 year green card July 10th (whew) hope yours comes very soon!

So my 2 friends who are December 2017 filers (Atlanta) got there interview notice this week. I guess Atlanta is currently working on December 2017 files now.

Hi guys,

I will apply next year but wanted to prepare a little early. I live in the Bay Area. My question was around how the CIS office gets decided. The processing times for San Francisco vs San Jose (according to uscis website) had a big spread. Can I choose which office I can have it go to?

I wish, if that option existed i'd never pick Atlanta field office...lol. CIS office is based on your zip code. To know your field office, go to https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/field-offices  enter your zip and you'll be given the info.

Hi

I got my interview passed yesterday and got my oath ceremony scheduled on this Thurs. So much faster than I expected!

The history questions I have been asked:

Who wrote the declaration of independence?

Name 3 original states in the US.

Name a city boarders Mexico.

What are the two parties

What's president's party

Who is in charge of military force

Read "Who elects Congress"

Write "The people elect Congress"

Confirmed information on the N-400 application.

Added new travel history

All the Yes/No questions.  ( good thing I went through the questions beforehand)

Then she announced my oath ceremony and congratulated me.

One hour later my status got changed to Oath ceremony scheduled.

Details:

07/09/2018: Submit N-400 online;

07/10/2018: NOA;

08/02/2018: Fingerprint appointment;

08/10/2018 Get notification on myDHS that interview got scheduled on 09/19/2018;

08/15/2018 Sent out the mail to the local office for reschedule interview appt;

08/22/2018 Use "Send us a message" on my DHS to inquiry if they received my request. Message replied that local will contact me once they  investigated.

08/24/2018 Called the USCIS and they said I have already submitted an inquiry on DHS and just needed to wait until 30 days.

08/28/2018 Received a letter from local office, saying they received the request and will receive the result in 7-14 days.

09/07/2018 my DHS notification that they de-scheduled the old appointment and reschedule my appoint on 10/22/2018, dated the notice on 09/06/2018.

10/22/2018 US citizenship interview

10/25/2018 Oath ceremony

Today I saw that my status change to interview scheduled. I still have I-751 pending (applied July 2017) Is this even possible? I’m located in California and I applied online. The funny thing is that in my account no changes appear but in the app to track cases it just changed today.

In how long should I expect interview? I need to start studying ASAP
