26 January 2005 - Entered US as visitor from Canada.
16 May 2005 - Assembled health package, W2s.
27 June 2005 - Sent package off to Chicago lockbox.
28 June 2005 - Package received at Chicago lockbox.
11 July 2005 - RFE: cheques inappropriately placed.
18 July 2005 - NOA 1: I-485, I-131, I-765 received!
19 July 2005 - NOA 1: I-130 received!
24 August 2005 - Biometrics appointment (Naperville, IL).
25 August 2005 - AOS touched.
29 August 2005 - AP, EAD, I-485 touched.
15 September 2005 - AP and EAD approved!
03 February 2006 - SSN arrives (150 days later)
27 February 2006 - NOA 2: Interview for 27 April!!
27 April 2006 - AOS Interview, approved after 10 minutes!
19 May 2006 - 2 year conditional green card.
01 May 2008 - 10 year green card arrives.
09 December 2012 - Assembled N-400 package.
15 January 2013 - Sent package off to Phoenix.
28 January 2013 - RFE: signature missing.
06 February 2013 - NOA 1: N-400 received!
27 February 2013 - Biometrics appointment (Detroit, MI).
01 April 2013 - NOA 2: Interview assigned.

15 May 2013 - Naturalization Interview, approved after 15 minutes.

10 June 2013 - Naturalized.

Do you have to go through the stokes interview, too?

Well you should have a lawyer definetely.

Because lawyers know everybody at the office, which makes everything smooth.

I didn't have any question since the officer belived we are a real couple, but my lawyer told me

sometimes they ask couples to show them house keys, so that they can see if wife and husband have the same keys.

It's just one of examples.

I think as long as you guys are real couple, it should be fine.

Just make sure to bring tons of photo albums

Congrats! at least you will get a 10 year GC.

Sept. 28,06 got my own car

Aug. 28,12 7th year wedding anniversary

July 11,2011 became a Citizen of US

December 27, 2005 - EAD, AP, AOS mailed

January 4, 2006 - received in Chicago

January 27, 2006 - RFE for medical received

February 13, 2006 - Medical received

February 15, 2006 - Biometrics appointment at 10 am

March 1, 2006 - AP touched

March 4, 2006 - AP received

March 8, 2006 - EAD received

March 29, 2006 - interview notice received - May 31, 2006

May 31, 2006 - Successful interview!!! Approved

June 12, 2006 - Green card received

Feb 28, 2008 - will be sending removal of conditions docs.

Congratulations! I'm sorry you had to spend so much time in limbo but I'm glad the interviewer saw it your way! Hopefully you'll have your GC before June :)

My 2nd wedding anniversary will be held in next month.

Officer told me he won't process until the anniversary because he wants me to have an unconditional green card.

Wow, it was VERY nice of the officer to do that!! Most officers wouldn't do that, even if you ASKED them. Even more so if the anniversary wasn't for another month or something.

I suppose it just sucks if you want to travel sooner than that since you can't get the I-551 stamp yet or anything. And the AP may take just as long to get as it will for the green card, so I don't even know if it would be worth it?

February 9, 2010: Naturalization interview and Oath Ceremony!

I can't even imagin how nice he was.

I mean

Most of officer would not do that.

He was just very nice and I probably won't forget his face.

He is completely the opposite officer of the one I got in the first interview.

Well my concern is jus like Steffi said.

My trip is June and even if I apply for the AP, it will probably take 3 months.

So if I get my Green card by then what's the point of getting AP, right?

However, I don't know when I get my GC.

My lawyer says I will get it soon, but he can't guarantee it.

Yay - congrats :) It was probably so obvious to the nice guy that the other guy was on a power trip!

AOS

August 30, 2005 - AOS, , AP applications mailed to Chicago Lockbox

September 9, 2005 - NOA's for AOS, AP, (dated Sept. 1)

November 28, 2005 - AOS biometrics - refused EAD biometrics at the same time

December 5, 2005 - AP approved

December 7, 2005 - Infopass appointment for interim EAD

December 12, 2005 - Received EAD card

December 13, 2005 - Received AP

June 14, 2005 - Case Status Inquiry/Tracer

June 19, 2005 - Letter sent to congressman

AOS INTERVIEW SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 8, 2006

AOS approved - August 8th, 2006 - hooray - done with USCIS for now!

GREENCARD RECEIVED - August 18, 2006
