Got Interview Notes from Dept. of State

Thanks so much for all the support VJs.

Based on advice from Lioness (good luck on Thursday, 10th), I called the Dept. of State to find out what the notes said about our getting a 221G with no comments or instructions. She first said we should just wait for the follow-up call. Then she got silent and said..."Tell your fiance next time to stop joking?" I said, "What do you mean he was joking." She said, "Tell him to be more serious. That's why they didn't get him the visa. Tell him to get real serious when he interviews." I said, "The embassy said it was his English." She said, "That's a shame because he has personality, he shouldn't be penalized for that. But, it was the joking. The english, he should definitely work on that. But it was the joking that made her give him the 221G refusal . Tell him to not joke next time." Then she said the embassy got our emails and will be calling us soon.

That took some weight off my heart. Boy what a tricky, trick. I sent a message to my fiance and will make sure to talk to him about that...he is a joking character...so I know he did smile and joke a bit, especially if it got tense.

Thanks again lion-Lioness for the heads up... for anyone else that wants to know more in detail if they are postponed or given other reasons for not getting the K1 or K3 visa, call 202-663-1225 press 1 and then 0 for a visa specialist. And I hope you get the woman I spoke to...
