Taking too long to receive a receipt notice and they haven't cash my check

Hello friends, I hope you can help me or at least give me some comfort with your answers. So I sent my I-751 on April 09,2018 and it was delivered on April 12, because my green card is expiring on July, 18,2018. It's has been over a month, almost two months and I haven't heard from USCIS, because of that I assumed my package was lost since they haven't cashed the money order either. I went ahead and sent another package with the new forms and everything like the first package, this time I sent a check so I would know when they cash it easier. The second package was delivered on May 24. They haven't cash the check and I haven't received any notice either. I'm just very frustrated because I don't remember taking so long when we did the k1 visa, the adjustment of status. and work permit. We always got a notice after 2 or 3 weeks. I have called USCIS customer service but they can't help at all, they always tell me to keep waiting and that there is nothing on the system under my name besides the old applications. This time that my status has an expiring day things are taking forever. I sent my first package with UPS to the PO BOX to the California Service Center in Laguna Niguel. I thought it got lost because I was supposed to use USPS for a PO BOX. The second time I sent it with USPS and sent it to the same PO BOX. The notification said it was delivered so I don't want to think that it got lost again. Is there someone else that is going trough the same thing?

Give them at least a month.  I know that's worrying because your green card expires soon.

But if they took over month and I never heard from them with the first package, should I wait for another month for the second? I don't know what to do if July arrives and my green card is expired. :(

Your status doesn't expire so nothing happens.  The only worry would be your driver's license.

Today I checked the mail and USCIS sent me a notice of action with the receipt notice, but I sent a cancellation of the money order I sent back in April, so I don't understand how they sent me that receipt when the payment on the money order was stopped, I even got the refund checks. I'm very confused.

Why would you cancel the check? USCIS is super slow...it is pretty normal these days for them to take 1-2 months for the NOA-1.

I would call them ASAP!

I cancelled the money order. I think they might ask me to send another application which I already did on May 22 and thus time with a check instead of money order

One thing that is HEAVILY recommended is to join the large threads of people who file the same month as you.

If you had, you would have discovered that April filers were waiting almost 45 days just to hear anything back.

There is possibly the chance they may backtrack and ask for the money once it shows they can't get it. It is also possible that they got the money anyways from western union or who ever drafted the money ordereven though you canceled it, and the last possibility is that they will also cash your check you sent with the second application, because they will get to it and the purpose of the money is to process it, so they cash it, then process.

If you have your NOA that extends your status then just wait out and see what they do from here.

Yes, I felt so dumb when I found the months filling posts. I just joined last week, don't know why I didn't think about checking visa journey. I'll call them today and see what they said. I'll call Western Union too. Because they sent me the refund last week

I HATE calling USCIS customer service in Spanish they always treat me like my issue is not important and that they don't care. I called this morning asking about my situation and they said that the reason I got a receipt notice was because they sent the receipt before cashing the money, it looks like it's different for money orders? Does any of you know about how money orders are processed? They also said that they are going to charge me a fee because they won't be able to cash the money, but on I-751 form instructions they said that if they can't cash your check they charge a NSF fee but it doesn't say anything about money orders. They said they are going to charge me twice because I sent 2 applications, which I think is ridiculous since they only need one payment so if they cash the check I sent them with the second application they shouldn't try to charge me again.

You'll want to follow up that. You don't want two pending applications with USCIS. Dealing with USCIS is a pain and you have not done yourself any favors by canceling the original check and sending yet another application...

These kinds of scenarios can spiral into a bureaucratic nightmare very, very quickly. Call back and demand talking to a Tier 2 agent to sort this out.

Don't you think they will send a letter because they couldn't cash the money order? The girl I talked to told me to wait until USCIS send me a letter saying what to do next. What is a Tier 2 agent?

Do not expect USCIS to sort out your mistake - at the end of the day your immigration status in den US is dependent on the correct filing of the I-751. You do not want to jeopardize that be stuck in some kind of bureaucratic limbo.

A tier 2 agent is an actual immigration officer. The phone support people you reach at what the forum lovingly calls "The USCIS mis-information line" have no access to the actual files and give only generic information which appears to be wrong about half the time.

I would love to speak with a tier 2 agent, I'm just afraid the stupid customer service rep. won't transfer me. Other option might be an infopass appointment?
