So, according to timelines and maybe estimates in interview scheduling, i am probably gonna have the aos interview probably october or november 2019.

Our 2nd anniversary is on April 2020, which is gonna be just about 5-6 months difference. So I'm thinking maybe to postpone the interview until after our two year anniversary.

Is there any negative effect of postponing the interview so we could basically skip ROC and save money and time.

You can’t skip applying for removal of conditions. One cannot apply for citizenship until holding the green card for three years. So the clock hasn’t even started ticking yet...

What i meant was, if we postpone our interview to AFTER our 2 year anniversary, he will get a 10 year GC instead of the 2 year conditional GC, technically, skipping ROC since he won'tneed to remove conditions since there is none to remove.

So, the question still stands, what are the repurcussions, if any, of rescheduling/postponing the interview.

I really don’t think that’s how this works...

I will have been married 2 years in July but that’s not the date immigration cares about in terms of applications. They care about the date you first receive the green card. To apply for ROC is 2 years from the date of receipt of the conditional green card, not 2 years from the date of marriage.

If you have been married 2 years on july 2019 and your interview is AFTER july 2019, you should receive a 10 year GC not a 2 year GC thus skipping roc altogether.

You get a conditional green card if you have been married lessv than 2 years, you get a non conditional green card if you're interview is AFTER your 2 year marriage.

Read about the difference. Youll know what I mean. If you don't believe me.

Do they need additional documents?

We haven’t used a lawyer at all in the process. Unless your case is unusually complicated, I would say it is not anymore valuable for the money.
