We received an electronic notice today that USCIS has scheduled our interview and mailed the interview letter.  We waited 548 days.

Side note for those obsessively checking case status online: right now, the egov.uscis.gov site shows the updated status "Interview was scheduled", but the myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov site has not yet been updated. I thought the DHS site was supposed to be replacing the egov site, so I was a little surprised that the egov site was updated first.

Wow. What is your RD?

I check both sites.

PD = Priority Date

RD - Receipt Date

They are both same in many cases unless I-130 was filed first only then that would be the PD and RD would be on I-485.

I have not seen anyone get an interview letter pass 4/28/17 so far though.

Okay, the priority date on the i-797 is blank (probably because we are doing an adjustment from I-129F, not I-130).  The received date is April 25, 2017.

We had another infopass appointment today, mainly to ask about the combo card renewal status. The officer said they are currently processing work and travel permit applications from April, 2018.  Since we applied in March, he agreed to send an inquiry by email and let us know later what he finds out.

He also mentioned that interviews are actually scheduled at NBC prior to sending the application packet to the field office. This surprised me because I assumed each office would handle their own scheduling, but he said it’s an anti-corruption measure.

When the case tracker says ‘Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview’ it means the file my lawyer sent to Chicago lockbox is at the Houston FO?

No, it means that the NBC has finished their pre-processing and the file is ready for the Houston office to request it to be transferred from Missouri to Houston.

Yes, we have been waiting for 550 days.  We got an electronic notice this week that they scheduled the interview, but at the infopass appointment today, the officer told us that it just means that the NBC is sending the file to Houston now and nothing has actually been scheduled yet.  Hopefully they will mail the letter soon.

When does MO send the file to Houston?

According to the officer we met today, USCIS sends the file from Lee’s Summit, MO to Houston sometime (shortly?)  after they change the status to Interview Has Been Scheduled.

Scheduled interview for what date? So it means that they mailed your file to Houston? I’ve seen people who have a PD/RD for 4/28/17 getting letters.

Oh ok. That is good progress. You should be getting a letter in few days.
