Yaaaay! Thank you @KathCali for redirecting me to this forum! :)

Hi, everyone! Very new to VJ but I was wondering if any of you here has filed in LA (specifically at the Chatsworth office)?

Filed August 2017
Received EAD & AP November 2017

And pretty much after that nothing has happened. We have requested for a renewal of my EAD as it's expiring soon and I needed to renew my driver's license... But pretty much nothing. :( I was a little sad and upset earlier after hearing that a former colleague of my husband has gone through the whole process, filed on October 2017 and has already been through the interview. Anyone who still hasn't had their interview? We haven't received any RFE or whatever. :(

Hi @purple-rose! Welcome :) We are all Chatsworth filers in LA :) Below are our timelines as of right now which as you can see are all over the place. A couple of us reached out to our congressman to assist with getting our interview scheduled after seeing people who'd filed after us had been scheduled before us. As you filed in August, I would for sure reach out to yours :) Brad Sherman is the congressman for San Fernando Valley but if you reside in a different area (eg. Santa Barbara) your congressman would be a different person.

September 2018. Thank you for this overall

I want to ask a question if you guys have any idea about, I had my biometrics last week Tuesday and many people around me had their status changed. Do you recall how long it took for your status to change after biometrics? I am still stuck in fingerprint fee received, and kind of getting angsty and thinking if I will get an RFE...

I never had a status change from biometrics. My status stayed on fingerprint fee received until I filed my EAD renewal in June 2018 and a few weeks after that, it changed to interview ready to be scheduled. It's the same for many people so don't stress! :)

Sorry for late response I was so busy with my toddler and family situations.

I got scheduled and I received a Interview date on the 29th of October!:))

We went trough the Congressman because our interview also didn't get scheduled and every time when we got close to the timeline they changed it again.

I would recommend that, we got scheduled one week after reaching out to him and are so thankful!

Thank you @KathCali for your great work to put our timelines together!!💕

Hi, @KathCali . Gosh, thanks for the help! Really appreciate it. I felt so discouraged and started getting worried when I heard that a former colleague of ours got interviewed already despite only having filed less than a year ago! I really thought something was wrong. Haha. I wonder what's causing this.. Our lawyer keeps saying it's really a mess right now with all the filed paperwork and that USCIS is taking much much much(!!!) longer than usual. I'll go ahead and perhaps contact our lawyer to see if he can contact our Congressperson.  :) I'm normally a patient person but this is getting me all worked up sometimes! Lol

I was getting so stressed too, worrying they had just left my file somewhere and forgotten. You're not alone! USCIS is definitely overwhelmed and understaffed right now. I have friends who were processed in 4-6 months so I totally understand your frustration :)

I wanted to mention, we do have a lawyer but contacted the congressman ourselves. It was very simple and it would have taken our lawyer twice as long (and probably cost us) to have them do it. I recommend doing it yourself :)

Good luck for your interview tomorrow @Zeal!!! :D If you have a chance to share your experience with us after, I would be forever grateful as mine is the following morning (Tuesday) and I'm very nervous! But of course no worries at all if you aren't able to - I know it will be a big day! Hoping it all goes smoothly for you :)
