Hey,

We have applied for my wife to move to the US and her documents were approved by NVC on 29/05/2018 and we're trying to figure out how long it's taking for people to get their interview once it's done at NVC? I've looked at some of the timelines but it seems like a lot of people don't update as they go. Any help would be amazing!

Thanks :)

5 days for us.  But our letter said "Most appointments are set within three months of NVC’s receipt of all requested documentation."

"The US immigration process requires a great deal of knowledge, planning, time, patience, and a significant amount of money.  It is quite a journey!"

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

I submitted my request on 5/10, and my appointment was set on 5/29. From my own observation, Sydney normally do K1 visa on the last Tuesday of each month. Currently the closest date I see is 6/26. My case took 1 days to arrive to Sydney. I think you can get 6/26.

What do you mean by "I submitted my request"?

So once Sydney gets your file, they will email you, asking you to complete DS 160, and pay for visa fees. ( Mine is K1, you must have another form to fill out). The you need to scan and email Sydney the payment receipt and DS 160 confirmation page. ( If you are CR1, would it be DS 260? Sorry I am not sure about this form, you better check with others).

Once you send them those two, Sydney will reply back with your appointment time. In the meantime, I suggest you arrange your medical done, and get police check certificate.
