Hi everyone,

Since i file for the green card, i've been reading this forum, trying to get help or comfort... but it's not working anymore. I really need help :(

I just got a job offer for a huge corporate after 6 interviews and now I am stuck because my EAD is far from processing and I keep delaying it for that reason - they're out of patience and i have until next wednesday to deliver some kind of proof its been expedited.

Contacted Ombudsman and they didnt want to try to expedite my case because im still in processing times -

Contacted Congressman (NYC), she filled the expedite request and it has not even been assigned yet (employment offer + support letter from employer + cover letter)

Here is my timeline:

I-485 + I-130 + I-131 + I- 765 Sent to Chicago Lockbox

i 765 assigned to NBC

Jan 22 2018 - Received at Chicago Lockbox

Feb 22 2018 - Bio Done

April 9th - 1st S.R

May 11th - Inquiry

May 11th - Answer from uscis - saying case still within current processing times.

I am about to call uscis to do another expedite attempt.

If anyone has any info, advices on what i should do please do so - I am so drained by this process, I should be so happy I found a job and Im just desperate and depressed - I feel like my life is put on hold :(

please help

thanks guys

Read the post below, I found it very useful. Call the USCIS and do exactly what Anna did, and let us know if it worked! :)

Thank you so much Liz, I will do the exact same thing as soon as they call back and will let you know

Hi guys,

I checked my case status this morning and it said:

On June 8, 2018, your request to have your case expedited, referral number XXX, was completed.

On June 8, 2018, we sent a response to your request to have your case expedited, referral number XXX

But I havent received any email or mail or text or else, so I called uscis and they said they sent me an email asking for evidence that I never recieved obviously.

He gave me all the info so I just faxed employment offer, support letter from the employer, cover letter from myself + front letter

He said I should call them back this monday.

Prayers up, hopefully this will work - my fingers are tightly crossed right now and will be for the entire weekend.

Will keep you posted -

Thank you @Tenreyro

FYI, I have been to infopass twice and they cant do anything in regards to ead - they can only help for advance parole (going back on monday regarding my AP)

HI :)

I expedited my EAD in 2015 due to a job offer pending. It took about 10 days to get my EAD card once i faxed the proof of my job offer.

I believe your request  should be approved. So, once you see EAD case status has changed , maybe you could show that to your potential employer  and they could wait few more days, until you have your EAD card in hands..??

Hope everything will work fine for you!!

Good to hear someone else's experience with this :)  Did you request it for reasons of financial hardship, too? How did you make your case appeal to them?

Yes, I requested my EAD to be expedited under "financial hardship to an individual".

I called and put a request to expedite. First time :) I was given a "referral" number. One week passed - I heard nothing back.

I called again. Got another "referral number". Next morning I got an email, where they asked me to fax them a proof of my job offer (fax number and whose Attn was mentioned in that email)

Faxed the same day. In 2 or 3 days status of my I-765 was changed to "approved". In few days - to "card has been produced/mailed". Everything went really quick... the second time :)

Fingers crossed - for everyone who is trying to expedite!!

Awesome! Did you have to submit any proof of financial hardship?

Not really... i just wrote a Letter, where I tried to explain WHY it would've been a hardship for me if I didn't get that job. Just a few words/couple sentences that opportunity like that doesn't come by often and so on....

I think it wasn't not really necessary  - a job offer pending should've  been enough.  I just wanted that job so  bad, so tried to do everything possible (some "extra" things) to get my EAD expedited to be able to start working :)

That type of success story gives me hope.

How long did you have to wait to get an answer from them?

Once I faxed everything, it took about 7-10 days to receive my  EAD. They changed the case status to 'approved" really quick - couple days or something. And then just had to wait for the card to be mailed to me.

We had to expedite my son's EAD renewal as well - our AOS took 15 months. The same story - he got  his EAD within 7-10 days once we faxed everything.

The only difference was - I got an email with a request to fax a prof of job offer pending (next morning), son got a regular mail, requesting to fax his proof of job offer pending,  within 3-5 days after we called and placed a request to expedite his EAD renewal.

no proof at all -

I'd call them again.

As I've mentioned before - I had to place my request to expedite an EAD TWICE. Request #1 has never made it :( And after a week of hearing nothing back a request #2 was placed. And it worked out.

Fingers crossed you will have your EAD approval soon!!!
