Shakey logic, at best.

So because you haven't heard of anything you assume the state of affairs in 2018 is the same as 2016, when she was the Presidential candidate.

Shaky, how so?  The Hillary team paid off the debt of the DNC from the 2012 cycle which put them into a lot of debt to the Hillary campaign, which I believe is still an entity.  Considering the DNC was not able to pay off it's 2012 debt in 4 years, I doubt they have paid back the debt they owe to Hillary in a little less than 2 years.  However, as you know, it is only speculation as the DNC is a private body, and unless one of their leaders comes out and spills the beans, we will never know.

That is why it's shaky. It's just speculation. It's actually speculation upon speculation because even if they do still owe money to the "Hillary Campaign" (whatever that even is at this point), then you are speculating that owing the "Hillary Campaign" money somehow means that Hillary Clinton herself is exerting direct influence over the DNC and the people they support. Could definitely be true, but it's several steps of speculation to argue that she is an "active player" in today's politics.

This thread has gotten a little off course here. The original topic was CNNs reporting (or lack of) on Hillary's health problems in 2016 when she was politically relevant versus the reporting on the first lady's health today who is far less relevant politically than Hillary was in 2016. The article posted contends that CNN brushed people off as conspiracy theorists for questioning Hillary's health and said we shouldn't talk about it while they are making up all sorts of whack job conspiracy theories about the first lady today. It shows hypocracy on the part of CNN.

So Hillary is benevolent and just telling the DNC to pay her back when they can.  I am sorry, I don't buy it.  Hillary is a person that feels she is owed something, she stayed with Bill and helped him maintain his presidency even through a House impeachment.  She followed the Bobby Kennedy path of becoming an actual elected politician through the NY senate.  It was supposed to be her turn in 2008, and the DNC and BHO came along and upset that payback.  From there she bit her tongue for 4 years as SOS (I think most of it on an airplane since I don't think BHO actually wanted here around at all).  Then come 2016, what did the Dems have to choose from. Of course this time she saw the opportunity to take control of the party and she did it, and if she plans to run in 2020, you know she hasn't given up that control.

She said in an interview I believe that she doesn't intend to run for office again. Though of course she could change her mind.

Yes I realize, apologies.

I haven't seen articles on CNN supporting any "conspiracy theories" about Melania. They are reporting that it is a strange absence, which I agree with. She stayed in the hospital for something like 5 days for a "kidney procedure" that is generally outpatient. She then has not been seen on camera for a month. That is strange. Conspiracy theories would be explanations as to why. I haven't seen CNN support any crazy theories. They may REPORT on them, but that doesn't mean they are supporting them. They "reported" on theories about Clinton, while pointing out that there was no evidence for any of them. Same could apply here.

I just googled "CNN Melania health".

You get several of the earlier articles talking about her actual hospitalization:

https://www.cnn.com/2018/05/15/health/melania-trump-embolization-questions/index.html

https://www.cnn.com/2018/05/17/health/melania-trump-hospital-stay-day-4/index.html

These don't claim any conspiracies. They report on what they know about the procedure, and they give opinions from various Urologists (none of whom have treated Melania)

Then you get articles about her "disappearance"

https://www.cnn.com/2018/06/04/politics/melania-trump-gold-star/index.html

This one actually mentions "conspiracy theories", but only in passing talking about twitter. CNN isn't speculating themselves.

Interesting the original article that talks about how CNN "loves to speculate about Melania's health", only provided a link to a Politico article, and not to any actual articles from CNN. Granted they may be talking about on television. I don't watch television so CNN's reporting may be very different on the TV compared to in print (online).
