Hello all

I hope someone can help. We are at NOA1 stage currently awaiting NOA2. I am the beneficiary and just want to know 2 things as I will be changing address within the next few weeks - what further mail will be sent to me, the beneficiary, now - will it just be the actual visa documents once it's approved? And then secondly do I need to notify the USCIS of my address change and how?

I have sold my house and will be moving back in with my parents so really don't want any important mail to go to my old house. I've tried to search for the answer for this but can only see threads relating to petitioner change of address.

I do apologise if any of what I've asked isn't clear, I've for some reason become very stressed about the whole visa process in the last few days and I'm getting myself in a flap.

Thank you

Eleanor

It is difficult to get your beneficiary address changed accurately. Once the petition is approved, everything goes to NVC, then to London.  London will send your letter of instruction to the address on the original petition.  Some try to get the address changed while it is at NVC but that is hit or miss.

So if you don't receive your letter of instruction from London, you will survive without it. It has:

  • a copy of the petition - you don't need it for anything and you have probably seen the petition anyway.
  • your new case number starting with LND- your fiancé will get something fromNVC with the case number on it or you can call NVC and ask for number. Only the medical clinic asks to see this letter to confirm your case number, but they will accept the NVC notification the petitioner gets or even a screenshot of your case status from the CEAC case checker thing.
  • a link to your London K1 instructions all found online- Here's the link https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/   Scroll down to read their steps for applying for the visa. Then read all the rest of the links at the top.

Meanwhile start working on your medical things early so you don't end up frustrated and out of time like this person

Thanks so much for this. I actually made a start on getting stuff ready for the medical yesterday as I was getting so frustrated, at least I felt like I was doing something. So I've applied for my police cert and have a request form ready to hand into my GP for my care summary thing.

I guess I'll just try and get the new owner of my house to forward mail to me/try and contact NVC when it gets to that stage. But it's good to know if I do miss a letter it won't hinder me.

Thank you again

I forgot to mention, you set up delivery of your visa yourself so the address does not come from any of your previous paperwork or embassy records. You can choose free pick up at a courier depot if close by or type in any address where you want it delivered (for a fee.)
