I live in Houston and plan to apply for US passport after my oath ceremony this month. Does anyone know if it is faster ( number of days to receive the passport) processing at USPS or if I apply at district county office ( normal process, not expedited)? Thanks for your input.

Never heard of applying at a district county office sense it is a Federal matter. But the usual timeline for a non-expedited passport is 4-6 weeks on average, it could be shorter(3 weeks) but on average that's the timeline.

It took my other half about 3 weeks to get his passport after applying at the local post office (Clear Lake area). If you need your passport done quick, you can pay more to expedite the process.

I know mine took 3 weeks and my daughter's took about 4 weeks overall to get it. I think the OP is just curious overall since they said that they aren't concerned about expediting it.

Thanks for your response. In Houston, there are acceptance centers for submitting passport application, and the district county offices are one of them. Just wondering if anyone in Houston applied in the district county office and their timeline.

Thanks for your response. I do not need expedited but just curious if the process is faster at the USPS or the county office.

I applied for my daughter's passport in a acceptance center in Burbank CA but it was still with the USPS, so this is a new one for me. Thanks for the info about that.
