Could be, Marilyn, but we were not allowed the chance to discuss it any further there as the thread was promptly closed.

The only time I've ever seen VJ spammed is when a particular member got angry with our new subforum and replied to every thread possible within a 5 minute period. That member has no affiliation with any other site, to my knowledge.

Clearly it does - but I guess the question at hand relates to the claim that another site "spammed" VJ. Since it's highly unlikely that any other legit site would go to the trouble to "spam" VJ, I just don't buy it. And even if it was true, how does that make it ok to forcibly remove a link in a PM?

This is outrageous!!!

I don't post much but I do see the board. I never noticed any untoward spamming. Furthermore in this process that we are all involved I for one would like to have ALL the relevant resources for gleaning information about my visa process available to me. If that means having another board provide some confirmation on points that VJ has shown, or even provided some info that VJ is missing somehow then I WANT to be able to use it.

Seems to me that VJ wants to be THE Ultimate visa related site and will block other useful resources for, quite frankly, petty reasons.

I has never heard of F B I until Tracy told me about it and coupled up with VJ gives us all very powerful and useful tools in our journeys. To have links for that removed, especially in PMs, so that F B I is effectively blocked completely from VJ, I think is ridiculous. So what if the other site "spammed"? No-one seemed to notice. Furthermore, if the other site is providing wrong info then the action would be justified, but if it is another useful resource then I DO NOT thank Ewok for preventing me getting there easily.

Totalitarian states exist on messageboards now huh?

I find it odd that it's not ok to share links to a web site founded by VJ members to serve a similar function...

Especially odd when it's ok to share links to:

but not

http://www.***removed***.com/forum/home.php

Yup you got it - I typed the complete name family based immigration dot com (all one word) and the link was AUTOMATICALLY removed.

because they spammed this site.... Ewok mentioned that sometimes they spam through PM's...

just because it isn't remembered doesn't mean it didn't happen....

that is one site out of many sites that is blocked, I really don't see the big deal....

When you follow the clues here, it's pretty simple to see all.

99% of all problems root from the following bases: (1% for plain stupidity)

1. Love

2. Money

3. Control / Power

It's a combination of 2 and 3.

This is a great informational site and I appreciate anyone who puts a large part of their life into any project.

What makes a difference now and the future?

What do we know for sure?

1. PMs ARE censored. (that's creepy)

2. Posts are censored. (that's unfortunate for posters / immigrants (like they need more problems))

3. Moderators don't really exist in full capacity.

4. This site doesn't like to share with mates. (shows what the main concerns are doesn't it?)

I know of other sites that are better equipped to work with immigrants without the above hassles, it's just that simple....same information...all in an organized fashion, without the power struggle.

Best of luck to you all and welcome to America - Your first rights here are the freedom to choose, I fought for them, and I'd fight for you!!
