GLOOOOOOORIA!!!!  ACEITOU!!!!!!

NOA2 Received in the mail today!

Sent a photo to my fiance. Then called him to hear him crying and telling his sister it was accepted. ❤️

Congratulations! I've seen you guys waiting for some time to get approved, as we have the same receipt date. Things will begin to pick up speed after you receive your case number. You will be together soon! 😊

We finally can answer our RFE, will send it out tomorrow. how long does it take fore them to answer?

Honestly....there is no telling, but I have seen some "patterns" with RFE.

It almost depends on what you got the RFE for...

If it was just a simple signature or added document, it could be as fast as a week. But if something a little more complicated it can take longer... (please keep in mind there really isn't a REAL time frame, I have seen some simple ones on here that took 6 weeks!!).

Mine took 2 and a half weeks!

Good luck!  I sure wish this whole process was a little more transparent in allowing us to see exactly where our case is at any given time without having to call, email or just plain wait for ages.  You can't even count on their websites or email to keep you informed. 🤷‍♀️

Hi may i know where is the newsite? Congratulation by the way..

Old site (also the data source for all 'USCIS case tracker' apps): https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

Newhttps://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ (you have to create an account and add your case # to it)

Neither is more reliable (and it's very possible you won't see anything on either, and will have to just wait for the physical mail). For a while it looked like they were phasing out the "old" site, but that trend seems to have reversed itself and there are still lots of cases that show up on only one (or much earlier on one than the other).

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

They do keep you informed but it's your expectation that is getting letdown not theirs. Here is how I see it.

1. "more transparent in allowing us to see exactly where our case is at any given time without having to call" They have a website that states the window of how long it will take. You have come to understand that there are background checks that must be made and they do not always happen overnight.

2. "email" They send you a NOA2 once your case has been approved.

3. "or just plain wait for ages" Again, this is your interruption and your schedule BUT it is not USCIS's schedule and therefore they have posted what the current trend is.

4. "You can't even count on their websites" For the majority of users, the USCIS website information is a pretty good indicator of what the normal processing times are. Some ppl will experience receiving an approval early while others will be in the middle and some will naturally take longer. These are background checks. Each individual has different backgrounds and each has to be exhausted till the information that is retuned can be adjudicated. See link below and Footnote at the bottom of this post.

https://archives.fbi.gov/archives/news/testimony/the-fbis-visa-name-check-process

5. "email to keep you informed" There never has been a promised email system/process. They do not use email to advise you.

It's natural that as a human we have expectations, some set them higher then others and when the government entity misses the expectations, then there is a let down. Those with higher self expectations will have further to "fall" in the failure of the government from meeting YOUR expectations. There is an old saying and it is true in this instance; "The man who has the gold [visa] makes the rules".

Readjustment of your outlook will help in relieving the stress that this process can have. Many on here are viewing this along with you in the same way so don't feel signaled out as I wanted this to be more educational as well as informative. Thanks for reading.

FOOTNOTE: As part of its benefits adjudication process and as required by law, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) conducts background checks on petitioners and applicants who seek certain immigration benefits. These background checks consist of four separate checks against systems within Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In order to facilitate the collection and transmission of information necessary to complete background check processes, USCIS maintains five information technology electronic systems: the Fingerprint Masthead Notification System (FMNS), the Customer Identity Capture System (CICS), the FD-258 Tracking System - Mainframe (FD-258 MF), the Benefits Biometrics Support System (BBSS), and the Interagency Border Inspection System (IBIS) Manifest. USCIS is conducting this privacy impact assessment (PIA) because FMNS, CICS, FD-258 MF, BBSS, and IBIS Manifest collect, use, and share personally identifiable information (PII). This PIA replaces the previously published USCIS PIA for the "Background Check Service (BCS)" which describes planned background check-related systems that were never implemented. Upon publication of this PIA, the BCS PIA will be retired.
