Hi everyone,

I have completed the immigration paper work for my father and he did receive the entry visa and he came to the US in January 2017 and we had to travel overseas to attend my sister's wedding.

The entry visa expired in February, my father did receive the green card and a social security number.

My question is, when my father is coming back to the US, does he need another visa or does he present the green card to the airport officer and that would enough to let back in?

Thank you

Let me know if you need more info to answer the question

A valid Green Card holder does not need a visa to enter the US.

If a person is a lawful permanent resident (green card holder), they may leave the U.S. multiple times and reenter, as long as they do not stay outside the U.S. for 1 year or more.  Then, it gets much more complicated.

So it is important to know when was the last time your father left the USA and his planned arrival back to the USA.
