So I am trying to bring my husband to the United States. He was here on an immigrant visa previously but lost his green card because he stayed outside the country for over a year. Now my question is, do I need to submit a sponsor form with my i-130/i-130a?(i didn't see any mentions of a sponsor on the i130 website). Can my sister's who are single and whom i also live with, sponsor him because I stopped working after I became disabled and retired soon after. I am on SSI and dont think i can sponsor him. If he does need a sponsor, how much each of my sister's have to make?would their combined earning of around 70K be enough for a decent sponsor?

hi

no, that's the second part of the petition, at the nvc stage. the i130 is to establish relationship between you and your husband

your sister can be your co sponsor and it is more than enough, regardless if not having income, you will still need to file an i864 and since you live with your sister, she can file the i864A when the time comes.

who is their? you mentioned that your sister was single

disability is considered income, but if you don't receive enough, you can combine income with your sister

I have two sisters, should both be my cosponsor or just one would be enough? Also a little confused when you said sponsors are needed after relationship is established? Does that mean I submit the i130 first and then the consulate will notify me that they require someone to sponsor him?

hi

only one sister is needed if she makes enough. the i130 is approved and sent to the nvc, or national visa center. there they will ask for the forms, payments and documents until the case is complete

So to clarify, initially I ONLY send out the i130 with the the $535 fee and later the NVC will request sponsor papers, am I correct?
