Hello - just wanted to add to the forum that we applied for an I-751 back in June 2018 to the Vermont Service Center. We just filed the N-400 online hoping for a combo interview shortly.

Your 1751 might be approve before that or you might get a combo interview for both. 

Do you know the processing time for N400 for your local office?

Did you file N-400 online or via paper copy?

 

Also what kind of evidence did you provide with N-400 application. I finally got my 10 yr GC in hand on Monday and about to file my N-400. So far I have the following evidence:

1) Copy of GC 

2) Marriage Certificate

3) Tax Return transcript (2016-2018) showing it was filed MFJ

4) Birth certificate for my daughter born here

5) Both are DLs showing same address

6) Electric bill/Water bill for last 2 years showing both our names/address

7) Mortgage statement for last 2.5 years

8 ) Joint Bank account statements (~3 years)

9) Health Insurance Cards/Auto Insurance/Home Insurance (Last 3 years or so)

10) 401k/Life insurance beneficiary showing my wife's name

11) Car Loan Documentation /Car title showing both our names

 

Essentially its almost similar artifacts I provided for I 751.

We filed using the USCIS online system. In regards to documents, the online system tells you exactly what you need to provide based on your profile. I only provided copy of green card, marriage certificate, 3 years tax returns, birth certificate copy for my child, copy of passport for spouse.

I think the best way to look at the issue of filing or not filing N400 while I751 is still pending is that the amount of time that it takes to process the N400 is ticking while you continue to wait for the I751 if you go ahead and file while pending or the time while wait to start ticking if you wait until the I751 is finished. The way I see it why not let them tick together and get to the finish line sooner with the N400. If there is a little lag time due to the I751 still pending when the N400 is processed and they are not adjudicated together, you are still ahead because once the I751 finishes then the N400 while finish its last steps.

I woke up to a RFE this morning!

I already have an idea what it could be and I’m hoping to have the letter in the mail by the end of next week (everything takes a little longer to get to the military post office...). 

After all this is good news because it means someone finally worked on my case 😂

It is a letter for biometrics appointment with Code 5 scheduled for July 17th.

 

I plan to hit the support center first thing in the morning on Monday though to look for an early walk-in.

It's same thing that happened to me.

I didn't do walk-in since I didn't want to risk and take off work two times if they don't accept me.

Anyways, my status has updated for the first time since filing and it says fingerprints review completed with the same day that I gave them.
