"Fellow June filer friends:

Sadly, our marriage is ending, possibly before the I-751 application is approved. We are already separated but processing the divorce may take months, so we cannot predict if the divorce will be finalized before or after the I-751 approval. My spouse is the petitioner and she attended her biometrics appointment without me last week. She has an expired green card and the 18 month extension letter.

I am willing to help her continue the journey (within the confines of the law) if she chooses to do so and I'm told she can still be approved for the I-751 if the marriage was in good faith - and it was. We have been married for three years last January and until last week were living a typical married life; co-habitating, shared insurance, renting apartment together, etc.

Does she need to take any action now, prior to the finalization of the divorce? My understanding is that if the divorce is finalized before the completion of the I-751 she will need to contact USCIS and probably submit a waiver or resubmit the I-751 application with a waiver. If she ends up scheduled for an interview I will not be attending the interview with her regardless of the finality of the divorce. Am I correct in assuming that would doom her application? Does she have any recourse if an interview is scheduled before the divorce is final ?Neither of us are in a financial position to secure counsel. If these are inappropriate questions for this thread, I will remove this post and repost in the right place if someone can tell me where that is. I searched the forum but couldn't find the answers to my questions but it is possible I overlooked something."

Hello. This is my first post in VJ. It (your question) is NOT inappropriate at all. If it was in good faith and it ended then it is what it is. You should not feel left out. You can simply help her by submitting mutual documents. You do not need to attend the interview yourself. I am the same boat too but my divorce was finalized before I submitted by 1751 packet. Also, sharing my case's story below:

No, Beddy. See the bottom of BKhan's post, she/he quoted my post and responded at the bottom.

It's been quite some time since I've been active on this site.  However, I'm in the same line as all the California filers, and am waiting for any word.  We recently received a notice letting my wife know that her biometrics will be waived and that they are using the existing information.  Other than that, the website shows no updates.

Sitting tight.  Enjoying the ride.  Ready to jump on board the Citizenship train once this one is done.

Yes, I got the email from them too. My guess is that unlike previously, June filers (at least at CSC) are now added into some kind of automated computer tracking system which has started sending automated status-updates.

Only one or two?

I got one like two weeks ago and today got another one again.

Kinda weird.

I have gotten two so far as well. This tells me that this is an automated system sending unsolicited (non) status updates.

Since I wasn't getting these updates until my Fingerprint status change - my guess is someone must have done "something" to put my A-number to start getting these emails. My guess is my case has been put into some kind of computer scheduling software.

I received the same email end of last month as well (only got one so far). I think it's the case inactivity notification messages, something they send every two weeks if they haven't taken a new action to your case.

Dear members needs your suggestion. I filed i-1751 with Vermont in June 2018 currently I am eligible to apply for N-400.

I have submitted all the evidence along with my Child birth certificate.

My concern is during the conditional green card I had many international trips as I was working as a consultant overseas. My wife also traveling with me on the most trips. I quit the consultancy last March so didn’t travel anywhere till now.

My trips were in the range of 4 to 5 month each but no trips for 6 months or more.

If I apply for N-400 while pending i-1751my understanding after reading the VJ group is that there will be a combo interview. Please advise would it be problem in the interview. In i-1751 form they don’t ask traveling but on n-400 whole section for traveling.

Should I wait for i-1751 or you think it’s better to apply for N-400.

You have to be in the states for 18 months  to be eligible based on the 3 years  rule or 30 months for 5 years.

Lucky you, I haven't been getting anything.

My online case still shows 'case received', biometrics done hasn't even been updated. It's really frustrating actually.
