I-751 June 2018 Filers

Hi Everyone, 

Here is my short timeline:

I mailed ours i-751 on 06.07 

Checks cashed on 06.22

NAO date 06.21

(California Cervice center)

 

I moved to a different state shortly after receiving a NAO and was very worried that my Bio notice might get lost. As soon as I moved I changed the address. After a month not receiving the bio notice I panicked that it got lost at some point and filed an inquiry with USCIS. Thats what they answered: "Thank you for your inquiry regarding an appointment to have your biometric images processed at an Application Support Center (ASC). We are unfortunately experiencing a longer processing period than what is reflected on your Form I-751 Receipt Notice.  Be advised that USCIS may be able to reuse the previously captured fingerprints and other biometrics for some applicants and have their biometrics copied into our systems.  In addition, USCIS can run the same security checks and use the same biometric data as in the past and may not need to schedule an additional biometrics appointment.  However, if a biometric appointment is necessary, USCIS will schedule your appointment electronically and mail the appointment notice to your current mailing address. The biometrics fee will not be refunded."

 

I felt relieved in the sense that our case is in the "normal" timeframe after I saw that none of the June fillers got their Bio notice yet

updated my bio appt date. GC is expiring on 9/14/2018 and I am traveling to another state by plane in October. I can show my State ID but state ID said "Temp. Visitor expires 9/13/18" Do I have to go to DMV and update my State ID to new extension Date?

Anyone want to take a guess on when us CSC folks might start getting our biometrics appointment letters in the mail. I would think we should be starting to see them here shortly but I feel completely in the dark right now. 😐

I have no legitimate insight into the process so my guess is completely unfounded and totally speculative:

 

I don't think we're getting biometrics letters this year.

 

Hopefully someone with actual knowledge will come and promptly contradict me!

That would be awesome. Did you see/hear/read something to substantiate that impression?

It is based on charts compiled by earlier filers, take a look at those who filed in Feb 2018.

Hi,

 

We filed the I-751 petition jointly and sent it to CSC on July 11. Around a week and a half later, we received the I-797 NOA saying that they received the petition on July 12. The NOA was dated July 19 and said that my conditional resident status was extended for 18 months from the expiration date on my green card. USCIS cashed the check on July 23.

 

And that's it so far...

 

We haven't heard anything about the biometrics appointment yet. We were starting to get worried. But after reading this thread, it seems that we're not the only one in this situation.

 

Additionally, we've noticed that the receipt number doesn't seem to work on the USCIS Case Status Online page.

If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address. 

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.
