Hello everyone i also filed in july and got my extension to the expired green card. I want to travel for the new year to mexico and i am wondering if it is safe or not.  The notice of action i received says it is extends work and travel i will just have to present that with the green card. Has anyone traveled already?

Hey there.

well I’m the best person to tell you that.

i have been out of the country I think at least 17 times after I got my extension in June coming back at many diferent port of entries all over the country and I have also done 3 cruises.

And I can tell you one think: they don’t even look at your face, I have spent so far less time at the immigration booth than when my green card was still valid haha. No longer than 2 minutes, never any questions, anything that would make me discomfortable whatsoever.

Safe travels!

So i was reading trough the topics here and i see some people received the biometrics appointment. I didnt receive anything about that. Is that normal, or everybody gets a letter about the biometrics if they need or do need to go?

The only ones that have gotten their biometrics appt. letters from us June filers so far are the ones that had their packets go to Vermont. Anyone that had theirs go to CSC are stuck in the backlog (lucky us :bonk:) that they have and have yet to receive our biometrics appt. letters. We are all in the hurry up and wait group. Welcome.

I've seen  some January filers got approved but didn't know there were Febuary Filers too. Wow!  I guess that's good news for some. Also there are tons of November, December filers still waiting for approval.

Good news for those people that got approved! I know someone who filed in CSC Oct 2017 still waiting on his approval, the only recent letter he got was that his case was being transferred to Dallas Texas center. Has anybody heard of anything like this happening? Anyway as far as my case goes, still no updates on my case status. The waiting continues!!!

That is the old site but some members still get updates on their case from there.

The new site is https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/

Try it out! :)

Whenever I check mine it says my case was received June 2018,  bla bla bla.

It hasn't even been updated, even after i got my biometrics done.

Should i be worried?

Are you a CSC filer? Cause a lot of cases from there didn't have to do biometric. Might be why you didn't get it.
