Several thoughts on a busy day:

 

1) A Justice Department opinion is not law, nor are law review articles, or other secondary sources. Depending on their provenance and the robustness of their legal foundations, they can be at most persuasive. It is premature to say that a president cannot be subpoenaed, because this is a matter that has never been adjudicated.

2) It is literally Week One in Constitutional Law II where you learn that a President can obstruct justice if he or she has a corrupt motive. 

3) It is most likely that if a president -- any president -- were to commit a crime in office, any statute of limitation would be tolled pending the completion of his or her term(s) of office.

4) My opinion (no charge) is that if Mueller subpoenaed Trump (which he won't), the Supreme Court would probably have in mind what one of the main points in becoming our own sovereign nation was: that we are a nation that does not deal in absolute power.

It was a perceived opinion that your single example did not change.  Perception is everything when dealing with the media, just like everyone that absolutely hates Trump perceives him  to be ignorant, and an awful president, and some have even labeled him a budding dictator even though he has a very moderate political position on most things.

 

The point was that the leftist press needs to apply some consistency overall.  Sure CNN said one time 9 months ago that Harvey Weinstein was a major Democratic contributor, then they need to consistently label him that in any future stories.

Trump litterally thinks he has "absolute" pardoning power. His whole administration is pretty keen on destroying civil rights for anyone who is NOT white-male-Christian. 

And he is the epitome of Crony capitalism.

And in Trump, they see a gold mine.

Which of course is your opinion.  There is really no evidence that he has done anything you suggested, but hatred can make people think interesting things.

 

The only thing I think about (politically) is how mis-guided people are that think they have the perfect method to implement Socialism.

Not to mention the special prosecutor law Mueller was appointed under isn't even on the books anymore and even it it was it never gave a special prosecutor unchecked power. Under the no longer existent special prosecutor law the special prosecutor was required to report to a judge on a regular basis. Also as you mentioned there has to be an alleged crime identified and the special prosecutor can only operate under the scope of that law.

 

Mueller thinks he is a God but he is not. In fact neither he nor any other prosecutor has prosecutorial power over a sitting president and in fact any sitting president can fire any employee under the executive branch including a special prosecutor. That doesn't mean a sitting president cannot be prosecuted for crimes. There is a process for that. It is called impeachment and it is carried out by the Congress. I know some people here can't grasp the concept of constitutional law and separation of powers but there is a reason that any two bit prosecutor can't just come along and prosecute a sitting president. If they could it would be very easy for a prosecutor to subvert the will of the people and seriously disrupt a presidents administration with frivolous charges. Kind of like what Mueller is attempting right now.

A president literally does have absolute pardoning power for anyone but themself and there may be an argument to be made that they in fact could pardon themself though that legal theory hasn't fully been put to the test. If you disagree with this explain what their limits are and the laws to backup your assertion.

We have a mixed economy, meaning socialism has already been implemented.
