How long it takes to get email/text from USCIS?

Good afternoon Im joining to this group, my situation is i have been waiting since may 15 of 2018,married to usct , i have not heard nothing since my lawyer fill up my paper work,i called yesterday my lawyer telling him that i have not heard nothing since them sent my appplication, he told me that it can take up to 5 weeks to heard from them and i got 20 days waiting, i just dont feel to wait to much, just want to receive my receipt to know bout my case and whats going on   and would like to  call tomorrow, need help how to contact uscis or what do i need to have in hand for when i contact them to figure out what bout my cas since was my lawyer who fill up the paper,thanks....

 

here my timeline:

oct 2017 - Arrived USA with B2-Tourist Visa

nov  2018 - Got married

May 15 2018 - My lawyer Mailed out USCIS applications (I-130, I-130A, I-485, I-864, I-765, I-131) to Chicago 

May 16 2018 - Mail arrived (confirmed by USPS)

for me, i called them on yesterday (Jun 4), and they had a tier 2 officer called me back after like 2 hours. I told her my case and she asked me to send an email to the lockbox support. So i wrote an email to the lockbox support, but yesterday night (around 9:45pm MDT) i received SMS and emails from USCIS about my case was received.

 

What you can do is:

1) Give them a call first

2) just directly send an email to the lockbox support - LockboxSupport@uscis.dhs.gov (Please include the form number, receipt number, petitioner and/or applicant name, and mailing address with your email.  Please do not include social security numbers in emails.) https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/contact-us

 

P.S. By the way your timeline said you arrived USA with B2 Visa in Oct 2017 and you got married in Nov 2018? Did you stay here with B2 visa for a year?

You should have a look at the stamp in your passport, there should be a date there states the duration of your visit. Cos I don't think a B2 visa can let you stay for 1 year. May i ask where's your home country?

Just curious, what to wear for the biometric appointment? I googled some people said wear suits... not sure if that's too formal??

 

And also, I understand mobile is not allowed to bring in there, is there a locker i can keep the mobile then?

Wear casual comfortable clothes understanding you will have a photo taken.  Leave mobile in the car if you don’t have someone with you to hold

So there's no way i can keep my phone there?

Becos I don't have a car, my husband's friend will drive me there, but i think she gonna visit her family while i go in for the appointment. So i need to call her after my appointment is done.

Casual comfortable clothes. It is not fancy in there at all. I was dressed a little nicer because I was going straight to work from there.

 

The guard asked me if I brought a phone and I said no but I saw other people having there phone with them. I assume the guard would tell you to turn it off. There was one girl though who was on her phone while we were lined up for our biometrics. The guard was walking by and asked her to turned it off. He was very friendly though. There was even one woman in the waiting area who had her iPad out. She put it between her and a big purse but she had headphones in her ears...

It kind of irritated me because the rules are simple and if they can't even follow those rules...but hey, I am not here to judge. lol

I send my AOS package on May 10, 2018 and they send me text message & email on May 21, 2018. My question is how long after you will get the letter to go do the biometric??

I received the text message and email on Jun 4, and I received the paper receipt (NOA) and the biometric appointment together on Jun 9.

I mailed my package to Chicago lockbox. And my local office is at Helena, Montana
