Hello! I will finally pick up my visa on Monday. Now we are planning the date of my move and court wedding. I know there must be some link as to what is the best thing to do after arrival to US. We plan to get married as soon as possible. Is it better to do SSS first then do court wedding? I would like to be able to get a driver's license too,.

@Greenbaum on the mail that I received from USEM, it says that I need to notify them if I'm done submitting my ds-160. Never heard of this before on the forum. Has anyone done this or got this mail (I think it's the packet 3)

Like what @K1visaHopeful stated. We think it's the Embassy contacting you. Read the email carefully and answer with what is required. Good Luck.

Hello.... On my case statut is ready since July 24 but it’s been 1 month that I wait for the letter from Paris Embassy... This is normal? When I called them they don’t give me much informations.. Did I need to wait or I can start to schedule?

Thank you

Hi I have the same problem that you. But you need to figure out if you need the letter to schedule the interview or get the medical exam, as i do. If you don't, check on the NVC web page  the requires you will need at your interview.

https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/iv-dv-supplemental/PRS-Paris.pdf

The other advise i can give you is to try to get in touch we other members of the forum which had had the interview already so you can ask them for a copy of their letter.

Hello everyone! I am writing this in hopes for people to be helpful and non judgmental...but anyways my fiancé is scheduled for his medical this Tuesday and while i was visiting last week we went to Amsterdam and had a little fun, forgetting the medical was around the corner. Anyways, my question is, do they drug test for marijuana at the medical interview?

Not sure about other countries but in Germany the obviously don't do that. They told me they test blood and urine if you have syphilis or gonorrhea (or was it gonokokken?) they didn't mention a drug test at all.

Ok thank you!! That makes me feel a little better. Did they also tell you it would take 1-2 weeks for results?

I told them that I will have my interview two weeks after the medical and that I'm worried that the results are not there i  time. And the lady said, don't worry usually we will have the results within 2 days and will forward them right after receiving them. I went to the doc in Dortmund. I just noticed that you are from Germany too (or your fiance?)...where do you go for the medical?

My fiancé is a German resident so his medical will be in Hamburg!!

Sorry but I must :bonk: over your head. One of the biggest changes in your life is on your door step.... anyways I'm not supposed to be judgmental.

Well my friend this is what's gong to happen. They are going to ask you if you have ever used drugs. And like a good man/woman, you are going to answer yes. Then the Medical Officer is going to note it. Then fast forward a week or two and you're at your interview. Again the question will be asked, you're screwed no matter which way you answer. You say yes DENIED. You say no and they have the medical records and they stamp your application DENIED.

Sorry but I think you couldn't have made a worse mistake then this one. I wish you luck as you're going to need it.

I'm sure they would legally have to tell you what they are testing for. If law enforcement cannot drug test you without your consent I doubt the department of state could.

They did show me my test sheet and what my blood would be tested for. Pretty sure they have to.

I agree that it wasn't the best idea. But it's just Marijuana, not a hard drug. Plus it is in a few states legalized (not sure if just for medical reasons or not). Do you really think, they would reject one just for smoking pot? And didn't almost everybody smoked at least one time in ones life pot just for trying?
