I'm freaking out. Still filling out the DS 160. The system doesn't keep my information about previous employments and education. I typed in the data for at least 5 times now. saving, going to the next, saving again.. actually I was ready and wanted to upload my photo. But the file was exceeding the size. So I closed the form (with saving) and wanted to upload now the cropped photo. I had to went through all pages again and AGAIN my information about previous employments and my education disappeared. Did anybody experienced it too? Any clue what's going on???

Yup that's normal.

It's a sh!tty system. You will have to save when you get to the end of every page but in order to get to the end of the page you will have to work really fast.

May I suggest:

1) You go through and print each page as you complete it as if it doesn't save, you will still have all of your answers to start over with.

2) For lengthy questions, pre-write a rough copy on paper so you don't have to think and just copy your information in.

It took me a whole day to answer the criminal charges question as I had to write a little blurb a couple of paragraphs long. I pre-wrote it on paper and then typed it lightening fast, saving it after each paragraph and then it still took me houurs to get it all saved in the box.

This system is glitchy at best. Painful at the most. Have patience. It's not you, it's the system.

Finally today we are in transit!!!! Question... what’s the difference on our timeline from consulate received and packet 3? When it says ready from the ceac website doesn’t that mean consulate received?

Consulate received is the date your status on CEAC becomes ready.

Received Packet 3 refers to the date your embassy sends you Packet 3. In my country that can take anywhere from a week to a month from the day your case is ready at the embassy.

Congrats to everyone whose case is in transit now! That is very exciting! You're one step closer now! :jest:

Our case has been at the NVC since July 2nd, and still no movement. Definitely a bummer, but I'm still hopeful ours will be in transit this week (with any luck). :( :clock:

Mine still said AT NVC for a while after others were in transit.  Keep checking please and good luck!!!

Thanks for the advices 😁 It finally worked. Now I just have to wait that Mikes documents finally arrive and then I can send it right away to the embassy. I'm so glad that this stuff comes to an end. Do you have already your interview appointment?

Aww, thank you! You guys are all so sweet. It's lovely to be going through this process alongside so many encouraging people. It's hard to keep your head on straight throughout this journey. It's easy to feel disheartened and overwhelmed, so it's great to have a group of people who are all going through a similar process. We're in this together!

I remember when they changed to the DS160. It was just weeks before we had our interview. I started to fill out the old forms weeks before the DS160 came into existence. Then there were 3 forms that pretty much were consolidated to become the DS-160 which at the time was only 2 pages long and didn't ask quite the number it does now. There was never a ticking clock and you could reopen it if you made a mistake after closing it and submitting. So much easier.

Hi dear. No. I didn't create a profile yet. I was so stressed out with the DS160 that I wasn't in the mood to. I will have a closer look to it tomorrow probably. I will inform you, as soon as I did it.
