Lately, it's been taking about 2-4 weeks for NVC to assign a case number. Just a little more patience. Keep checking the website for updates on your case.

It's actually taking 2-4 weeks for approvals. I'd give it a another week or so then you might try both options below.

First try shooting off an email to the Ombudsman at cisombudsman@HQ.DHS.GOV The Ombudsman provides an impartial and independent perspective to USCIS in an attempt to resolve problems.

Second try your U.S. representative's contact information can be found in this handy directory, and your U.S. senator's information is in this one.

Thanks. We had our case status updates today finally! In transit. Thanks for the response. Looks like others in same situation might see movement soon. Hoping for the best!

Ok so I have to laugh, mine was like crazy fast. The embassy in Lagos sent me an  email yesterday morning that they received our case and we now need to pay the fee and complete the required medical and police stuff. My question is this, it seems like we cannot schedule an interview date until the fee is paid and the DS-160 is completed in the system. Does this sounds accurate?

The fee part yes the DS160 no. Ds-160 is not tied to anything. The only thing I can think of is if they go into the system and look and see if it's submitted before they allow you to  schedule the interview

Question:

U.S. Department of State
IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION
In Transit
Immigrant Visa Case Number: CSBxxxxxxxxxx

Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center.

I got an email saying that the case is being sent to Morocco buit I dont see a interview date as indicated on the CEAC site.  Is that normal?  Should I call CEAC and see what the interveiw date is?

I am so happy to say the NVC has recieved my case today. My noa 2 was June 22. For a long time I thought we would never get approved and now things are moving so quickly. I am praying for an interview date for the August 31. Is there anyone that has recently scheduled an interview with the Jamaican embassy? If so is any dates around the end of August avaliable? I plan on attending my fiance's interview so I will be flying to Jamaica when the time comes. I am just so thankful and anxious. :)

NVC has my case now.  I expect it to be in transit to the embassy in Jamaica in the next few days.  I will be scheduling his interview most likely the beginning of Aug.

Well good luck to you and please share his experience after the interview when you can. Are you attending his interview if you don’t mind me asking? And could you by any chance when you are scheduling his interview see if August 30th or August 31 has available times?
